Old Mexico Lives On
Feb 1st 2014
On February 2nd 1848, following a short and one-sided war, Mexico agreed to cede more than half its territory to the United States. An area covering most of present-day Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah, plus parts of several other states, was handed over to gringolandia. The rebellious state of Tejas, which had declared its independence from Mexico in 1836, was recognised as American soil too. But a century and a half later, communities have proved more durable than borders.

He was the right hand of General Winfield Scott I believe.
Hmmmm...that’s a tough one. Live under a government that is openly corrupt, disrespects its people’s civil rights, is actively in league with one or more of the cartels, and skims off all the profits form private enterprise for its own purposes - or become a part of Mexico. :)
Cost of living and the weather, to some extent. Dominican born Mayor Willie Lantigua of Lawrence, MA, stole a brand new garbage truck and sold it in the Dominican Republic. Lots of places in New England are more Hispanic than white.
Lee’s permanent rank throughout the Mexican War was Captain of Engineers. He received brevet promotions all the way to colonel, but those were not really promotions, they were more along the lines of recognition for meritorious service.
Winfield Scott, during and after the war, considered him the best officer in the US Army.
a) distance; b) absence of low-paying, unskilled jobs (outside of government)
For about ten minutes, then hordes from the Hispanic and black countries would begin flooding the borders of Whiteyland, demanding amnesty, food stamps, health care, etc.
If you exclude Latinos. I (Irish/Scottish descent) am a minority where i live in MA. Between 1990 and 2000, the Latino population in New England grew 60 percent
“New England has a significantly denser population than that of the U.S. as a whole (79.56/sq mi), or even just the contiguous 48 states (94.48/sq mi). Three-quarters of the population of New England, and most of the major cities, are in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The combined population density of these states is 786.83/sq mi, compared to northern New England’s 63.56/sq mi (2000 census).”
“In terms of race and ethnicity, White Americans made up 84.9% of New England’s population, of which 81.2% were whites of non-Hispanic origin. Black Americans composed 5.7% of the region’s population, of which 5.3% were blacks of non-Hispanic origin.”
Hispanic and Latino Americans are New England’s largest “minority, and they are the second-largest group in the region behind non-Hispanic European Americans. Hispanics and Latinos of any race made up 7.9% of New England’s population, and there were over 1.1 million Hispanic and Latino individuals reported in the survey.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_England#Demographics
Interesting chart of all states regarding religion, money, voting, etc. http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/Statistical_Correlations.html
Not exactly. A couple million immigrants per year (between legal and illegal) combined with a million abortions per year over 3 decades will give you a dramatic demographic shift.

The United States annexed the Republic of Texas, admitted as the state of Texas. However, Mexico didn't accept the annexation or the Mexican border with Texas, which provoked the MexicanAmerican War. |

On December 13, 1853, Antonio López de Santa Anna signed the Gadsden Purchase (known as Venta de la Mesilla in Mexico). He sold an area of 76,845 km² from the states of Sonora and Chihuahua for $10 million to the United States. The treaty was signed by U.S. President Franklin Pierce on June 24, 1853, and was ratified by the United States Senate on April 25, 1854. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Territorial_evolution_of_Mexico |
They should have won the war.
Too cold in the winter, too wet in the spring. There is a decent week in August, and another in October.
And any day we can beat the Yankees, Knicks, or Jets.
Winfield Scott. I think that’s who he meant.
It is a bit of a stretch to say Mexico gave up half of its territory when the area they gave up had no military, no police, no postal service, no court system.
What Mexico had was a claim on the land but did not occupy it beyond a few towns. Then as now, Mexico is about the goings on in Mexico City and not any thing else.
Yeah. He was at his side. Probably more like two steps behind and to the right.
He was like any LT in a war in a staff position.
I d not mean to detract from what he became..but he was not making a lot of policy or strategy down there. Nor was Grant.
... WHEN IT COMES TO AMNESTY
THIS IS THE MEXICAN PART NO ONE DARES MENTION
If you agree Pass it on to to your favorite talk show host and to your US legislators.
ONE NATIONALITY AMNESTY SKEWS QUOTAS. HURTS OTHERS FROM SOUTH AMERICA, AND SKILLED LABOR QUOTAS FROM OTHER NATIONS ...WORSE YET OFFERING AMNESTY FOR NATIONALS FROM A COUNTRY THAT HAS CLAIMS ON OUR NATIONAL TERRITORY THAT COULD AND HAS TURNED INTO PROBLEMS FOR BORDER STATES CLAIMED BY MEXICO .
In a May 3rd 2011 speech Obama gave before the Mexican Anthropological Museum he blamed America for the violence in Mexico I believe he went even futhur. For theres a inference but never referenced by name to the Gasden purchase and border settlements US made with Mexico. Here Obama hinted he seems to side with the Mexican claims. Would those in attendence share that view is a question that should be asked, because I believe they would,.he does.
SOLVING THE ‘LATINO” PROBLEM A MYTH HISPANIC IS NOT A RACE BUT A POLITICAL LINGUISTIC CONTRIVANCE ...don’t fall into the hyphenated Americans trap created by the hyphenated political party ...The DEMO-COMS
The Mexicans have been getting most favorable treatment above the rest of our neighbors both north and south. Theyre permitted to cross our borders and enter illegally and are allowed access to rights of citizenship (with the exception of voting which if the democrat party regains control over the House will happen) other nationals entering this country dont get.. Worse yet the Obama government has been working hand in glove with Mexican movements such as LaRaza supporting the Mexican claims which are also supporting “Amnesty”.
Also by allowing Mexicans to do this any quota ration for immigration from other south and central American countrys are taken up by Mexicans while that country is laying claim to a large chunk of our sovereign territory is a recipe for later serious problems which are happening now.
ARE MEXICAN ILLEGALS SQUATTERS PERPETUATING THE MEXICAN CLAIMS ?
We are already seeing the result of this in certain areas claimed by the Mexicans. Their national flag (standard) gets displayed over ours. Where there is a controlling number of Mexican nationals (illegals). Its displayed over certain institutions particularly schools accompanied by riots and disturbances. Blacks are threatend by Mexicans in certain sections of citys in those areas. Were courting trouble by not placing a value on our sovereignty and our citizenship.
MOST COINS OF THE REALM HAVE TWO FACES
WHAT ABOUT HOW ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS LIVING IN MEXICO BEING TREATED ?
Worse yet if a US citizen goes into Mexico never mind illegaly but legally. Theyll get 2nd class treatment. Land ownership in title is prohibited period. And there are a slew of regulations they must comply with. Which doesnt apply to a citizen of Mexico
THE SOLUTION ASSERT OUR SOVEREIGNTY AND TALK RECIPROCITY .
By not insisting on reciprocity particularly on those who have entered this country illegally were offering no incentive for assimilation and were not easing the burden for our fellow citizens who for what ever reason decided to live in Mexico.
ENOUGH OF THE ONE WORLD SOCIALISM ...BRING BACK SOVEREIGNTY AND SANITY TO OUR COUNTRY .....BRING BACK BELIEF IN GOD ...THIS GOVERNMENT OUT OUR FACE..... OUR RELIGIONS..... AND OUR BEDROOMS..
By my reading, he was frequently ahead and the primary staff officer
I think Santa Anna actually agreed to a larger cession of land in the Gadsden Purchase, but Congress cut it down because Northerners in Congress (I suppose only the senators were involved) were afraid that the territory gained would someday become part of a slave state. The reason the US wanted the land was to make it feasible to have a southern railroad route to the Pacific.
The map merely depicts the Reconquista.
Question to ponder: Will enough illegal invaders
(aka “immigrants” accorded status and rights equivalent to or possibly more generous than those granted foreigners who waited their turn and entered legally)
be accorded voting privileges to ensure a permanent Democrat-Socialist majority at the federal level?
