Senator Ted Cruz to Headline Denton County GOP Lincoln-Reagan Dinner
Texas GOP Vote ^ | Bob Price

Posted on 02/01/2014 8:08:40 PM PST by SoConPubbie

Since his return to Texas after his twenty-one hour marathon Senate floor speech, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has been speaking to sold out and standing room only crowds across Texas. If you haven't had the opportunity to hear him speak in person, on February 1st you will have your opportunity as Sen. Cruz will deliver the keynote speech at the Denton County GOP's (DCGOP) Lincoln-Reagan Dinner.

The event, which will be held at the DFW Hyatt Regency Hotel, promises to be one of the most exciting Lincoln-Reagan Dinners in DCGOP history. In addition to Sen. Cruz's speech, Texas State Senator Jane Nelson will also be speaking to the crowd of Texas Republican Party faithful's.

Dianne Edmondson, DCGOP Chair, told TexasGOPVote,"Sometimes, it seems like all the political dinners are the same, but the Denton County Lincoln-Reagan dinner is THE premier political event in North Texas. Always a dynamite evening, this year’s headliner Sen Ted Cruz will be a crowd favorite, and his popular father, Rafael Cruz, will be introducing Ted with some charming childhood memories."

"An exciting live auction promises lots of awesome items, " Edmondson continued, "from a large screen TV to a TAR rifle with the Texas Seal in gold (donated by Commissioner Todd Staples), a fantastic dinner for ten by internationally acclaimed chef Morris Salerno, and a ride in an antique World War II Stinson plane, piloted by Commissioner Jerry Patterson. It’s an exciting evening that you will want to be sure to attend."

A recent DCGOP press release stated, "Texas’ own junior United States Senator, the Honorable Ted Cruz, will be the featured speaker at the Denton County Republican Party’s annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the DFW Hyatt Regency Hotel."

A passionate fighter for limited government, economic growth, and the Constitution, Senator Cruz is not only the talk of Texas, but of the nation as well. Senator Cruz will be introduced by his father, well known conservative Rafael Cruz, who is sure to share special personal remarks about his son.

The gala banquet will be emceed by Denton County’s own State Senator Jane Nelson. The evening begins with the private Lincoln Cabinet reception followed by the VIP reception which will provide the opportunity for guests to visit with Senator Cruz as well as elected officials from across the state.

Prior to the evening's festivities, the DCGOP will also conduct their first ever "Strategy and Victory Conference".  This event will also be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel earlier in the day. The also very popular Congressman Louie Gohmert will be the featured speaker for this event.  More information on this event will follow in another article later this week.

The dinner and conference (see flyer here) will surely be sellout events. Packages for the conference and dinner as well as dinner table sponsorships and tickets are available now by phoning 940/321-2671 or by registering online at http://dentongop.org/2014-lincoln-reagan-dinner/ or http://dentongop.org/csandv-conference/ Individuals or businesses wishing to donate to the live or silent auctions should contact Mark Yarbrough at 214/315-9457.

TexasGOPVote will be there to bring you coverage throughout the day of these two exciting events. We look forward to seeing you there!

OK, you leave me confused.
Cruz as a Liberal in the sense of one standing up for Liberty and Freedom from an over bearing centralized government?
We should steal the word. Really I'm serious.
Please explain.

*wistful sigh*
i wish, we in KY had a senator like Sen. Ted Cruz (TX-Tea), (Sen. Rand is ok, just that ok).
Ted Cruz, has spirit. Shall be very glad in May '14 and hopefully "ditch" Mitch McConnell.

You missed my point.
I was not getting wound up about your comment, it was making me think.
I was serious about stealing the language.
The left steals the language all the time.
Why should they be called Liberals when actually THEY really are nothing but useful idiots for communism.

You're not understanding my “think tank” type idea.
I layed it out there for consideration in seeking ways to draw attention to
the fact that “Liberty” is at stake here; words do mean things but quite often meanings are perverted by the left.
Do you realize that the word “Conservative” brings on a negative reaction or “feeling” in the ignorant brain washed masses who hardly pay attention to things going on in this country, yet they vote on election day?
Do you get my point? It's out the box, Man!

I think what PAR35 was saying is that if Cruz was our liberal senator, then the other member of the delegation from Texas would have to be even more conservative than him.

I thought that, but requested clarity for my own understanding. Thanks.
I may be compelled to move to Texas if Texans start to vote to right of Cruz.
LOL.
I live in Washington state. My vote for president has not counted since 1984
When I voted for Reagan. I was 21.
I am in a swing district for congress so sometimes it counts.
Reichert is my congress man. He is just another damn socialist.

Ever notice how no one is beating down the doors to hear Texas’s other senator, Cornyn, speak? And he’s the one running for re-election this year.

We need to replace Cornyn with someone more conservative than Cruz, which would make Cruz the most liberal senator from Texas.

I wonder if 20 years from now they’ll be calling it the Lincoln-Reagan-Cruz dinner?

Apparently you don’t have to live in TX to get your message...but it helps! :)

Many talk of Cruz as the Second Coming of Reagan, but I disagree. He is to Reagan as Reagan was to Goldwater. I see the potential for Cruz to completely eclipse even the Great Ronaldus if he wins the Presidency. It will be a NEW new morning in America.

Cruz speaks at Denton County GOP dinner, calls on Congress to focus on economy

Cruz fires up crowd

Cruz — who surged to national prominence with his fight to repeal the Affordable Care Act
roused the nearly 1,000 people during the dinner at the Hyatt Regency DFW with calls for
a grassroots effort to put the country back on a path of prosperity.

“There will be another president, and that president may even be of another political party,”
he told the crowd.

“Ted Cruz,” came a shout from the audience, to loud applause.

“Thank you,” he said.
