One thing I never figured out about heroin is that almost everybody knows you become an addict almost from the get-go from it. So what reasoning goes thru someone's mind when the opportunity for the first injection comes? I mean someone who is somewhat rational? Do they think something like, "Hey, time to explore the wonderful world of being hooked on heroin?"

I just don't get it especially since you have to shove a needle in your arm. That would be a turnoff for me right there. Oh, and also the helpless junkie part as well.

“Breaking Bad” on the tube was SUPERIOR to almost everything in the movie theaters.

I just finished watching the second season of “Breaking Bad”.
Anyone that watches it will see just how damn destructive drugs are. A lot of money to be made, but if you get hooked on the strong stuff you might as well go ahead and start planning your funeral.

Not all heroin users start by injecting. Frequently they get their start smoking it...and once you are doing street drugs there is no logic to your life

Addiction can really age a person. I have a cousin who has been an alcoholic all his life - he’s about 52ish and looks like he’s 80. Won’t stop drinking, though. He’s been through more rehabs than I can count but nothing stuck.

Indeed, I thought he was older.

RIP

I remember my old man, Mr. “Case a Day+”...he checked out at 60, looked about 150.

I had a teacher in HS that had a saying: “Booze, butts and broads will kill you.” Add “dope” to that list...

Why are praying for a mother with cancer and praying for a dead actor mutually exclusive? Was PSH not one of God’s children?

He was a superb actor.

Not too many people beat heroin. It is an evil drug.

22 people died of heroin overdoses in Pittsburgh last month.

The dealers are now cutting it with fentanyl.

Maybe Hoffman was sold some of this stuff.

Perhaps, a time traveller is playing games using the public’s fascination with celebrity. :-) It is macabre. if they haven’t already, “Coast-to-Coast” will probably do a show on it.

I believe the reality is that certain people turn the wait for a close, inevitable event into a sick hobby, making and taking bets on when an ill, and/or elderly, celebrity will pass away.

Unless he often was seen driving like a maniac on city streets, imo, the initial Paul Walker hoax was a very strange and eerie coincidence.

Well, they'll have to find someone to play PLUTARCH HEAVENSBEE in the last two episodes of the Hunger Games..

I thought the same, but I read today that most of his work was complete for both movies, and only "minor" rewrites are necessary.

Too bad, he was one guy I always liked to see in a movie, but apparently the H did him in after a long time being clean.

#1 in a new trilogy of celebrity deaths.

Previous grouping was:
Arthur Rankin Jr. (Rudolph tv specials animator)
Mighty Hannibal (r&b performer)
Christopher Jones (actor, Wild In The Streets, soapy operas)
