The Whump-Whump-Whump of the wind turbine will drive away the tourists by the car load.

Tybee Island is a great place and I’ve enjoyed myself there a couple of times but a huge Wind turbine is just going to make it a miserable experience after a few hours in it’s presence.

Well, the Feds have already said “Screw the birds” for the next 30 years, so I imagine the state will be sued by environmentalists if they try to protect the birds by denying the wind farms.

Do you see an expense item missing from that $134,000 number? It’s way greater than $134,000.

That seems OK, unless there's more to the story

There's more to the story. There's *always* more to the story when the liberals are trying to sell us something.

Ask yourself: What's it going to cost to maintain these? The experience in CA is "A Lot."

Additionally, liberals always lie about the upfront costs, too. Well, I'm not going to just slap liberals for that, it's true for pretty much everything government does. Government always lies about the upfront costs. Projects almost never come in under budget, there are almost always overruns. There have been exceptions.

I missed it. What is it?

Maintenance. Nowhere do they talk about that, and it’s way costlier than installation.

Got it. But I wonder if that's factored in to the yearly operating costs before the savings.

Any way, it's an entirely stupid idea. Especially with nesting birds on sight.

Couldn’t be factored in, because it’s way more than the ~$113K mentioned. These wind turbines are incredibly expensive to maintain because of lubrication issues. The right oil doesn’t even exist, so without constant replenishment they die very quickly.

You'd think it was a stupid idea, but you have to remember they were willing to sacrifice the few remaining California Condors. If we lose that species, it will be 100% the fault of the wind farms. Of course, the environmental wackos will deny it, even with the broken bodies of the Condors literally at the feet of the turbines.

BTW, I misread your earlier post about factoring the maintenance costs into the "savings." I still maintain that'll never happen. The savings never, ever add up, but by the time there's an accounting the money's always spent, both the original funding and the bail-out bucks. And there will be a bail-out, upon this you can rely.

I not only agree but also see this project becoming financially nonviable within ten years of installation.

Ten years? You are most charitable, my FRiend. This thing’s in the toidy 10 seconds after rollout. Can you say, “bailout?”

Convert all the male bovine excretion produced in DC to methane gas and you can power the whole world with it.
