Syria ping!
Thanks for the ping. The problems of the Syrian Christians are nothing that a little arming themselves wouldn’t help to fix. Zero failed to do anything but send humanitarian aid, most of it to the 2 million plus refugees in Jordan and Turkey (I doubt that an effective infrastructure exists in Lebanon, or that one would be needed). While the humanitarian aid was admirable, any possibility of a nationalist, non-jihadist independent militia got flushed as a consequence.
Assad gave arms to local independent (and largely Alawite, NO Christians) militias, and isn’t keeping track of or giving a hoot about what they do with the weapons.
His army bled out from defections; Assad’s army’s pattern has been, making a big deal out of taking this or that place, then withdrawing, then heading back to retake it — and surprise surprise, that’s the story with that predominantly Christian town people post about every couple of weeks as if it’s something new.
The Iranian mullahcracy sent in nearly 20,000 thugs right away; as there are lots of “Palestinian” Arabs who have helped keep the mullahcracy in power for decades, I wonder if seeing a well-armed rival “Palestinian” faction arrive in Syria was what led to Hamas’ early abandonment of Assad. In any case, they weren’t enough, so the mullahs called in their proxy thugs from Lebanon.
Syria is going to be a war zone for years, perhaps permanently, or at least until the second to last survivor gets shot by the last survivor, who can then be arrested and tried for war crimes, and executed.
