TILDEN TWP., Pa. - A New Jersey State Police trooper asked an officer not to arrest him on shoplifting charges by mentioning he worked on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's security detail, police said.

An attorney for William Carvounis confirmed the trooper has worked on Christie's security detail but denied he asked for special treatment. He also denied that Carvounis shoplifted items from the outdoor retailer Cabela's in Tilden Twp., Berks Co., near Hamburg, on Jan. 8.

Effing Jersey dirtbags. I hate seeing their license plates here, and this is but one reason why.

Read on Fox that this guy makes 140 grand a year.
NJ must be a very prosperous state to pay their people so well.

People just do the strangest things when they believe they’re entitled.

I’m glad he was caught now, before stealing the CT SSN belonging to the deceased Harrison J Bounel.

This guy did it all wrong. Instead of stealing the stuff, he should have explained to management that in exchange for certain considerations, their store could avoid some very unfortunate mishaps.

They probably would have helped him load the stuff in his car. Here is a man who clearly has no future in New Jersey politics.

Pennsylvania ain’t Joisey. Now maybe in Joisey we could have a sit-down, but in PA you’re outta luck, pal! ;)

I come from Jersey
Buy all your 22LR
And then I go home.

Except for worsening your ammo shortage, I try not to hurt anybody when I am visiting your fine state. I buy my ammo, stop for a meal, tip well, and I'm home by sundown...

He probably got pissed when he noticed PA residents buying a stedy stream of handguns and ARs with only a NICS check (no 6 month waiting period like NJ).

I live in a Pennsylvania border town and we buy liquor in New Jersey because it’s cheaper. Undercover Pa. cops wait in the parking lot and then tail Pa. drivers until they cross the line and then arrest them.
I wish NJ law-enforcement would arrest every Pa. undercover cop and charge them with restraint of commerce.

Look, always drive at least 25 miles into NJ and then buy. Use your trunk or a tarp for an SUV. Take your receipt an mail it back to yourself in NJ if you want it. Pay cash if you can. Watch the bridges. Use EasyPass and don’t speed. Remember they confiscate and the fine is twice the value plus court costs. Never been caught!

That is because PA liquor stores are owned by the government. Government hates competition. Another example of too much government.

Went to college in Easton, back when PA was 21 and NJ was 19. I used to go way down Rt 22 past P-burg, and I would use the bridge downtown instead of the one on 22 on the return.

I live in Wisconsin and our beer and liquor prices/taxes must be low as no one we know has ever mentioned buying out of state. It must be tough living in a high tax state such as PA and having your beer run turn into an arrest situation.

On the main topic, never shoplift at a Cabela’s, there are cameras everywhere, and these are monitored. I worked part time for a bit at a Cabela’s.

I would think anyplace that sells guns and ammo must have great security, just to protect themselves from lawsuits. Anybody shoplifting in a Cabela’s or Gander Mountain must be as dumb as a box of rocks.

I'm in NJ and we have same problem buying fireworks in PA.
