CryoSat shows Arctic sea ice volume up 50% from last year
Watts Up with That ^ | February 5, 2014 | By Anthony Watts

Measurements from ESA’s CryoSat satellite show that the volume of Arctic sea ice has significantly increased this past autumn.

The volume of ice measured this autumn is about 50% higher compared to last year. In October 2013, CryoSat measured about 9000 cubic km of sea ice – a notable increase compared to 6000 cubic km in October 2012.

Over the last few decades, satellites have shown a downward trend in the area of Arctic Ocean covered by ice. However, the actual volume of sea ice has proven difficult to determine because it moves around and so its thickness can change.

CryoSat was designed to measure sea-ice thickness across the entire Arctic Ocean, and has allowed scientists, for the first time, to monitor the overall change in volume accurately.

About 90% of the increase is due to growth of multiyear ice – which survives through more than one summer without melting – with only 10% growth of first year ice. Thick, multiyear ice indicates healthy Arctic sea-ice cover.

This year’s multiyear ice is now on average about 20%, or around 30 cm, thicker than last year. . .

This is climate change. Colder weather is brought on by global warming, just like global warming is brought on by people. Too many sweating human bodies. Need something like Obamacare to reduce the old, the young and the diseased/

You laugh but there is evidence that fracking has opened pockets of the Hughes Bosons. The primeval particles were separated from decaying radio active elements geologic ages ago.

Over time the particles permeated the lower mantle and then over vast areas were resisted by the selenium trichloride found in much of the shale. They were forced together into pockets that were released into the extracted gas by the tiny fractures.Once on the surface they permeate the various containment vessels still in the clumps.

The precise method has not yet been determined but it is believed that the concentrations of Bosons in the atmosphere produce extreme thinning of CO2 resulting in conductive loss through the hole. Trisometric surveys are being conducted to measure the effect

That ain't what JAXA says: http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm

Yes. Maybe. But ALGORE says it probably is the “bad” kind of ice, and not the “good” polar bear kind of ice.

Looking at my daily satellite photos it looks like Superior is about 80% covered with floe ice and a solid sheet covering a considerable swathe at the eastern end. Looks like most of Georgian bay is froze over with Lake Huron being almost covered with floe ice. Michigan is largely open but there is considerable floe ice and the straits of Mackinac are froze solid. Erie is pretty much froze over and Ontario is the most open.

From the day before yesterday.

When the warmists come up against data that contradicts their theories, they change the data. They’ve done this again and again. You can expect some type of error to suddenly be discovered in the Arctic sea ice data, requiring adjustments to bring it in line with the global warming religion.

I’m not supporting JAXA... notice the big bold note that they “adjusted” their data back in September....

No doubt to skew it back down some.
