Better yet, simply lie.
Check “Other”. If they ask, say “Kenyan”.

If you can “identify” as any gender you like, I don’t see why you can’t “identify” as any race too.

"Disparities" is another word for inequality. Which means the inequality will have to be fixed by making sure those who are on the wrong side of the inequity get treated while those on the right side don't get treated. See how fair that will work out?
The “race” portion is hilarious.
It confuses race with nationality and ethnicity. There is no genetic basis for the compartments.
It’s a political screed manufactured by deranged zealots, nothing more.
If the Stupid Party wanted to make an issue of it they could probably pick up 5 Congressional seats off of this alone.
But they won’t. That’s why they’re called the Stupid Party...
Lots of whacky stuff there. “La Raza” is a ethnicity? And what’s with all the “races” - looks like a list of members of the UN.
Makes me Feel Right At Home.
Some strange categories. Spanish Basque is a separate ethnicity, but French Basque is not? There are separate choices for “Guamanian” and “Guamanian or Chamorro.” “Spaniard” is a category, but Portuguese is not, and there is no listing for Brazilian (although most of the Spanish-sepaking Latin American countries get a separate listing). Yapese rates a separate listing (with a few thousand people) but Polish does not?
I can’t recall the exact case names, but there were 2 Supreme Court rulings that, taken together, established that a person’s “race” is whatever they choose it to be.
I use that to justify my claim that my race is Elven :)
“Carolinian” gets to be a race, but not “Texan”?
I’m not white and who uses color as an ethnicity anymore? I see black on the list but I’m personally afraid to use the term and instead use African-American even though the only two truly African-Americans I’ve ever known were more pale skinned than me. I also prefer not to use Caucasion as my people weren’t from the Caucasus region. I’m definitely Anglo-Saxon but it isn’t on the list. That’s discrimination and I’m offended so I may have to sue someone.
That's not a "national population health survey". It's a doctor's office questionnaire, and there is no possible way my answers to those questions could in any way effect my treatment. I'd conclude that the doctor is a moron, a danger to my health, and walk out just on that basis.
Well, they need a way to know who to deny care to, and who to grant it to, and who to charge to pay for those who receive care.
“Mixed” isn’t on the list, but it also doesn’t say “Check all that apply.” Granted, it doesn’t say to check only one, either.
I’m calling BS on this, those instructions would never pass muster at any business I have ever worked at. And that list doesn’t even make sense.
If they really cared about things like the differences race makes in disease susceptibility, etc, they wouldn’t crucify people like Jason Richwine for doing genetic research in such matters.
Just lie.
I’m a black woman from Micronesia on all that crap.
I re-did my mortgage and it had all this stuff; I put black.
Census: black Hispanic.
The obvious solution to this is to make up stuff. I, personally, always identify myself as an Andalusian “Other Pacific Islander,” which I think nicely splits the difference with the idiocy of the questions. Only once has anyone blinked an eye. She didn’t know what Andalusian meant. I explained about the Iberian peninsula and her eyes glazed over and she let it drop. I recommend everyone decide, creatively, on their race and ethnicity and stick with it. Worked for Elizabeth Warren.
