Former Pc Mike Baillon, 42, won the payout when an industrial tribunal said he had lost out on his future pension and some earnings when he quit his job.

He had told the tribunal he was the butt of daily mockery by his colleagues in Gwent Police because of the YouTube video.

Pc Baillon's behaviour was terrible to start with - but it is even worse that he has been given so much money.'

The tribunal heard Mr Baillon walked out of his job after being ridiculed every day by his colleagues at the police station where he worked.

He had already been taken off front-line duties because his his 'impaired mental state', one of his former superior officers told the hearing.

nice to see America isn't the only place where cops aren't held accountable for their actions but paid for their transgressions... and handsomely at that!

Mr Baillon, who has since set up a business selling wooden reindeer, was awarded almost £440,000 for loss of pension and earnings.

The full story is that he was stopped 17 minutes earlier but drove off whilst the officer in question was trying to talk to him about his erratic driving, but then took it upon himself to drive off, leading to a 17 minute chase, where he was stopped. The policeman subsequently smashed his window with a truncheon in order to seize his keys and stop him driving off again.

The moral of the story is, if a cop gets you to pull over, don’t then drive off in a tantrum whilst he is talking to you. If he’d been in America, the old boy would have been lucky not to have been shot dead, repeatedly, so that his lifeless corpse danced like an epileptic breakdancer trying to bust his moves on top of an old spin dryer...

You surmise too much, especially “tantrum.”

The moral is what we already know. Great Britain and the US are police states.

Surmise nothing. Here is a longer video of the incident:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUptcBBhsAo

The man is accelerating away from the police who have the sirens on and are being forced to give chase. He only stops when a police roadblock further up the road forces him to do so. Having so blatantly failed to cooperate with a lawful instruction from a police officer on several occasions, they smash his window in to seize the keys to stop him driving off again, as he had done earlier. I’m no fan of police officers abusing their authority and acting like tools, but this is not one of those occasions.
