For years the Taliban have railed against infidel dogs who have invaded Afghanistan.
Now it seems they have caught one.
A video released by the Taliban’s cultural arm, al-Emara, pictures long-haired gunmen showing off the spoils of war.
They include weapons captured, they claimed, in an operation against American forces on December 23 as well as a subdued-looking canine on a chain. It wears the sort of shoulder harness used by working dogs.

“This dog was named after a colonel,” said one of the fighters. “It had a torch on it and its neck wore a GPS.”
Dogs are used extensively by coalition forces in Afghanistan. Some work sniffing out IEDs, weapons or drugs while others have a search and rescue role.
It is a dangerous job.
A spokesman for the Nato-led International Security Assistance force in Kabul said: “We are aware of the video. However, we have no operational reporting to confirm it.”

A Springer spaniel called Theo hit the headlines when he died of a broken heart hours after his handler was killed. The 22-month-old dog suffered a fatal seizure when his handler, Lance Corporal Liam Tasker, 26, was shot dead by the Taliban in March 2011.

Only a total moron would think you could drag a tribal islamic society as exists in Afghanistan and Iraq into a modern Democracy.
I think when dealing with these Islamic shiekdoms which screw with us we should attack them, kill them leaders, wreck their military infrastructure, and pull out. Minimal cost, minimal casualties, maximum chaos. Let their own damn Muslim brethern pick up the ashes and put everything back together again.

Even more heartbreaking are the countless videos I’ve seen of cops shooting down dogs who are showing nothing but submissiveness and shock as they are repeatedly pummeled with bullets until they are dead.
Way too many innocent pets are being murdered by cops.. Their only crimes were that they barked or got overly excited.
I have never seen anything as heart-wrenching in my life!
