The problem we have is that Stovall Vs Stockman increases Cornyns chance of re election by diluting the vote. The number of challengers isn't a problem when winning the primary requires a majority. Recall that Ted Cruz was one of three challengers to Dewhurst (with Don Leppert and Craig James). Fact is, the more challengers, the merrier.
The problem we have is that neither Stockman nor Stovall is going to force Cornyn into a runoff.

Cornyn was only polling 50% in December. There hasn’t been another poll since which tells me that those numbers have slipped. He needs to pull 50% to avoid a run-off correct?
