Wholeheartedly agree, I have done work in many tech companies and research facilities and there has always been a very large proportion of Indians, Pakistanis and Asians at all levels of the facilities. They are definitely cherry picking “minorities”.

blacks accounted for 4.2% of computer science/computer engineering bachelors degrees

And they have ZERO problem finding jobs, because companies are truly eager to improve their diversity (at least the larger ones that can afford not to hire the best for every job.)

Those black geeks also have the advantage that they don’t have student loans to pay off, since they probably got a free ride at a good school, given that they were the rare smart tech-oriented black that the admit committees are salivating over.

It’s too bad that in order to make it in Silicon Valley, one has to act “white”, otherwise there would be all sorts of “diversity” (as if there isn’t already now with the East and South Asians).

Is it really racist that there are some fields in which white men are found in bigger proportions?

Is it racist that most of the NBA players are black?

In the latter case, the situation is accepted for two reasons - because the minority are overrepresented and the distinction is based on physical ability.

The former case is "unacceptable" to the left because the minority is underrepresented, and the discriminating factor is more intellectual in nature.

Maybe Bay Area African Americans should focus less on being offended by what a local high school serves for lunch during Black History month and more on uncontrolled immigration and H1-B visas that are shutting them out of the work place.

Interesting.

I attended my son’s inter collegiate programming competition last spring - he was one of the top 10 finishers. Competition was open to all comers from every corner of the globe. Funny, I didn’t see any blacks or Hispanics, only Whites and Asians.

My son took 2nd overall and 1st in most innovative. He said the next week he got calls from major companies wanting to meet with him for lunch - and, he was “only” a 19-year old freshman in college.

There IS a place for talent, always, and it knows no color/race/religion/ethnicity.

Just a minor irritating thing I want to say here. In my last job we used to have the saying that the ideal employee as far as the company was concerned was a Woman/minority/veteran/handicapped with management potential. It was funny at first but as the years went by it became more and more not-funny as I saw first hand the efforts to hire such people just to fill out the quota forms.

Just another liberal progtard moron writing in a commie rag how “the man” needs to give the poor oppressed Negro a
high titled job with a fat paycheck and to not have the
audacity to actually expect the lump of useless flesh to
EARN IT.
