IT'S OFFICIAL: Obama Has Completely Dismantled The Debt Ceiling As A Political Weapon

If there was any doubt after the government shutdown and last protracted battle over the debt ceiling, this cave from Republicans should make it clear: The debt ceiling is no longer a legitimate political weapon.

House Speaker John Boehner will bring a "clean" debt-ceiling increase to the floor on Tuesday night. For Republicans, it completes an epic swing in positions from 2011, when they first made the debt-ceiling increase a major vehicle to try to force spending cuts from President Barack Obama and Democrats.

Consider the swing: In 2011, Boehner established the rule in his namesake — "the Boehner rule," which required a dollar in cuts for every dollar raised in the debt ceiling. In 2013, the Boehner rule is dead. And in the end, even before Republican leaders conceded and said they would allow a "clean" hike to come to the floor, Republicans were talking about spending increases that would be attached with the bill.

It got to the point last week, when House leaders were considering a method called "pen

It’s too late to make debt an issue. Both parties are to blame. Why take the total blame for the collapse?
Prepare yourself and your loved ones to get out of the way. When interest rates go up, and they will, when, who knows....
It’s going down. I’m yelling timber.

The debt ceiling should not be a political weapon. In a grown-up world, it should be addressed by sound fiscal policy, which is completely absent in this administration.

I want fiscal responsiblity. However, that ain’t happening until this evil administration’s hands are tied. And that’s not happening until the opposition controls more than 1/2 of 1/3 of the federal government.

Winning in November trumps a futile fight that would only give 0 another chance to divert the conversation from his incompetency.

The day it’s passed all Republicans should wear black armbands. Declare a day of shame. Call on Americans to elect Republicans and pledge to stop the madness.

Every time the kenyan browbeat the GOP over “paying our bills” Boehner should have shoved it right back in his face. The fact is every other POTUS has negotiated this stuff. Boehner rarely did say a word back and never on a consistent basis.

What we have here is a standard preemptive surrender by the stupid party. Been there, done that.

The current Republican Congress members are just as guilty as the Obama admin regarding the debt ceiling. They don’t want to quit spending money, either.

The whole thing will have to blow up before anything changes, imo.

Hard to have any political leverage when past Repub Presidents ignored previous “ceilings” and pushed to “raise the roof”. Now look at what the “party” has caused, massive interest payments that are inching closer to the most expensive expenditures in the budget.

However, that ain’t happening until this evil administration’s hands are tied the electorate grow up and start voting for sound responsible representatives that neither Democrats and Republicans can claim they have (Especially in leadership positions).

It’s like a remake of The Blob.

There is no escaping its tentacles or the oozy things that come out of it.

Time for a major freeze..

John Cornyn's ads make me want to puke...talking about how he stands up to Obama every day.

After watching his performance over the past several years, IMHO John Cornyn is a "Terracotta Senator".

Why even have a debt ceiling? It means nothing to the spendaholics in DC. After all, it’s not their money they’re spending.

Why the hugh debt?

Exactly what you’re saying.

It’s not like they have to pay it back personally.

And the fact, great great great great great grand kids will

In effect the election of a Republican House in 2010 had zero impact. The Republicans have caved on every issue while happily being beat up for being obstructionists. In hindsight we’d have been better off with a Democrat majority, and Pelosi as Speaker. That way the 2016 elections would have the Democrats running 100% on their record and results. Now they’ll blame the bad economy on Republicans preventing Obama from getting his way.

As for the Republican minority in the Senate. . .

Meanwhile the nation goes into the abyss.

This lying commie anti-american bastard used the debt ceiling as a weapon while Bush was president.

F-the media.

I cannot stand the double standard with the Golden Child who is deliberately stealing this nation’s wealth.

WE DO NOT HAVE THIS MONEY. HE’S SPENT MORE OF IT THAN ANYONE ELSE.

HE HAS NO INTENTION OF EVER PAYING IT BACK.

RIP what was once a great nation.

Adults are no longer in charge or willing to speak up.

“In 2013, the Boehner rule is dead.”

It died last year, in a blizzard of media hatred blaming republicans for Obama’s refusal to negotiate on anything.

That meme survives, and if anything, has just been reinforced by the media, so now even the most uninformed sheeple believes it.

The so called debt ceiling is a joke, has been for a long time. The US can’t do anything but go further in debt forever. There is no possible way except for reneging on the debt. Which wouldn’t help anyway because the spending will still exceed income forever.

Even worse, the debt hasn’t be accurately reported in.....well, never.

We have a semi secret non governmental entity printing money to “buy” government debt as well as set monetary policy. This entity supposedly holds US gold and leases it out to manipulate gold prices and prop up the dollar. But we are not allowed to audit this entity, nor are we allowed to question it in any way.

The government holdings of gold at Ft. Knox are secret, no audit of them in over 50 years. No one knows what is there. The Democrats say that 11 million dollars (what a joke coming from them)is too much to spend to inventory this gold we supposedly have.

Whenever the rare opportunity to reduce the size of the Spendaholic Federal Government approaches a decision point, the unchallenged and therefore invincible Obamanation Congressional Format, ( OCF ), unfolds flawlessly as follows:

* Permissive, weak and cowardly Speaker “Doormat” Boehner proclaims that THIS time he will protect and defend the US Constitution;
* “Assistant Doormat” Cantor will nod like the bobble head lap dog that he is;
* Cave-In, Con-Artist Ryan will make a side deal with his Pelosi Pals;
* “Rubberstamp” Reid will then approve whatever the Pelosi Pals have shamed Ryan into ramming through the House;
* Lazy, Anti-Work Obama will say “The OCF worked again! That was sooooo EASY!”
* The Left Stream Media will gently boo Boehner, while mildly applauding his “Bipartisan” Leadership;
* “Doormat” Boehner will then slink off sobbing, relieved that he dodged another major tongue-lashing from the Left Stream Media;
* Karl Rove will go on FOX and say “The Moderate House Republicans are showing that they are willing to work with Obama;”
* Krauthammer will go on FOX and say “Unbelievable;”
* The Conservative voters will say:
*** “Yup, permissive RINOs are no match for the Commies, Socialists and Democrats in Congress.
*** We are doomed to feel sorry for ourselves, again.
*** What shall we do?
*** Sigh - - - - .”

BTW, Boehner, Cantor and Ryan are all heavily favored to win re-election to their well-worn House seats in 2014 - - - - .

_____________

The voters in Boehner’s Ohio House District vote Boehner into the US House, and the US House Members vote to choose THEIR Speaker.

Weak, cowardly, permissive “Doormat” Boehner thus fairly represents our weak, cowardly, permissive, doormat RINOs.

The voters in Ohio are simply overjoyed that the US House RINO Members have loyally continued to keep in place a weak, cowardly, permissive, doormat Speaker who has ALWAYS caved in to Obama.

Boehner’s Speakership is safe, as our House RINOs just love to Cave In to Commies, Socialists, Democrats, and especially to Obama.

Oops, I feel a “Boehner” coming on! Please pass the Kleenex! Sob!

No, No! The Charmin is for an Obama!

Kleenex is for a Boehner! Sob, sob, sob - - - - - .

“Call on Americans to elect Republicans and pledge to stop the madness.”

Too many on the “FREE SCHIT!!” dole for that now, I fear...

I can already see the “REPUBLICANS WANT TO STARVE YOUR KIDS!!!” commercials, plugs in TV comedy shows, and attacks by the late-night comics.

We no longer live in a Republic, but an IDIOCRACY, where the majority of males under 40 get their primary news from the Daily Show, and TMZ.
