Split-Second Justice as U.S. Cracks Down on Border Crossers
New York Times ^ | FEB. 11, 2014 | FERNANDA SANTOS

TUCSON — “My record is 30 minutes,” Magistrate Judge Bernardo P. Velasco of Federal District Court here said one afternoon, describing the speed with which he had sealed the fates of a batch of 70 migrants caught sneaking into the country. Each of the accused had 25 seconds, give or take, to hear the charges against him, enter a plea and receive a sentence.

This is a part of the battle against illegal immigration that many Americans have never heard of. Known as Operation Streamline, it is the core of a federal program that operates in three border states, using prosecution and imprisonment as a front-line deterrent to people who try to cross the border illegally. It is part of a broader strategy of increasing the consequences for people who break immigrations laws.

Unlike the civil immigration courts spread throughout the country, where deportation cases are handled as violations of the nation’s administrative code, the courts used for Operation Streamline treat unauthorized immigrants as criminals and the act of illegally crossing the border as a federal crime. Efrain Alejandro, 32, who says he has just served his second sentence in two years under Operation Streamline, at a soup kitchen in Nogales, Mexico. Samantha Sais for The New York Times

Men and women arrested along the border, the chains around their ankles and wrists jingling as they move, are gathered to answer to the same charges — illegal entry, a misdemeanor, and illegal re-entry, a felony. They have not had an opportunity to bathe since they set off to cross the desert; the courtroom has the smell of sweaty clothes left for days in a plastic bag.

turn um around and send um back. but collect finger prints and/or DNA so when they come back with a different name we can still identify them as a repeat offender.

Or, we could just adopt Mexico’s policy on their southern boarder..

wasn’t it shoot to kill?

There is nothing more disgusting and bigoted as referring to an Illegal Alien as an “immigrant”

Illegal Aliens caught should be arrested and jailed. They should also be RFID tagged so that if they cross again, they are immediately ID and logged as repeat offenders

Chip them and swab them for DNA.
Deported illegal aliens become persona non grata - they may never travel to the US again for any reason.
If they are caught again with a chip, they go to prison - hard labor - minimum 5 years. They they go back.
If they are caught again without the chip, they are executed, as they’re obviously up to no good.

Executed? You want the United States of America to execute people for non-violent acts. Imprison? Sure. Deport? Absolutely. But execute?

I'll give you some time to think that over. Or have you forgotten that we don't live in North Korea? I think living in your kind of country would be intolerable for decent, law-abiding Americans.

The Immigration Laws in Mexico you mention are pretty correct. It took me a ton of money, 15 years of going to the office, and 12 people in the country in one year were given permanent residence. I can NOT vote, am not even permitted to serve in a local flea market committee, or serve the Parents and Teachers Association. No going to protests...parades..stay out of the political process and don´t ever practice the right to be heard. Pretty limited, forgot to mention you can´t own land on a beachfront, and any violation you get a free trip to the border with Federal Escort in 24 hours. It´s not a place to disregard the law...

Thanks Second Amendment First.

First offense — deportation.

Second offense — execution.

Just an idea.

I’d be okay with

First offense - 30 days in jail, then deportation

Second offense - 5 years in prison, then deportation

Third offense - 20 years in prison and we bill your country of origin for all costs of your incarceration. If they don’t pay up you get only the minimum sustenance to keep you alive and no medical care. Then deportation to the farthest point of your country of origin.

Any crimes committed on U.S. soil while being an illegal alien are automatically elevated to being a felony with a mandatory minimum of one year. Yes, that applies to littering and jaywalking, too.

I have posted before on a REAL immigration reform. And it should be adopting the Mexican immigration laws as you know and calling it as such, The Mexican Immigration Reform Act. The illegals (most) would have no place to complain and the Public Relations of the concept is hard to attack.

Stop the social programs for foreigners and the courts would even be needed.

Given that our border, language and culture are being destroyed, it is arguable that we don’t live in a country at all.

If we chip and deport an illegal alien and tell them not come back, ever, and then they remove the chip and come back into the USA, they are, by definition, up to no good.

Furthermore, deporting them again is obviously a waste of time and money. They’ll be back.

They were warned. I see no reason to waste a prison bed on them.

Border Patrol Busts More Than a Dozen Previously Deported Violent Felons

by Top Right News on February 12, 2014 in amnesty, Arizona, Border Security, Crime, GOP, Immigration, Politics

In just three days last month, Border Patrol agents in the Tucson sector recently re-arrested more than a dozen convicted felons, including two MS-13 gang members, most of whom were not supposed to be in the United States, officials said.

As I said, deporting them again is a waste of time. This is not a game.
