WASHINGTON — One of the latest Obamacare pitches to get young adults to sign up for health insurance starts out with a mother's kitchen note reminding her grown son to enroll.

"Mom, you know I can't afford it," the young black man protests, as he sits down at a kitchen table next to a bespectacled woman with a laptop computer linked to the U.S. federal enrollment website, HealthCare.gov.

"But for the first time you can," she replies reassuringly. "You go to the HealthCare.gov website, compare quality plans and you could get help paying for it."

There is another one where the young man beams that he only pays $75 a month because of his income. These adds all seem geared to the non productive side of society.

Of the 25% of the 18-30 yr. olds that the NYT was crowing about signing on to ObamaCare, how many have HIV, STDs, and other chronic and expensive medical problems that will suck money out of the system? Just because they are young, does not mean they are healthy. And it certainly doesn’t mean they are not getting subsidies, as this ad was offering to the young who can’t afford ObamaCare.

You forgot to mention that he said he already had insurance. He just wanted to see if he could “get a better deal”.....I was furious when I saw that.

Later on he said did get a better deal “because of his income”.

They don’t tell everyone these “better deals” come at the expense of the producing Americans in this country.

The most insidious effect of these ads is to further erode trust in the federal government. During WWII ads encouraging military enlistment, sale of war bonds and conserving of scarce recourses were effective because the population trusted the government. Over the last 50 years that trust has eroded by a government that has abused that trust.

I sure would like to see some ads running AGAINST the Death Panels.

When Hitlery was trying to ruin health care, there WERE tv ads that took her on.....Today, very little public opposition is seen in the media.

At this present point in time, the citizens of this country do not have a ‘government’; they have a cabal in charge.

They also don't tell you that the coverage is cr@p and there are high deductibles.

I can't wait till these sucker try to use their new cheap coverage and find out how bad it is.

I thought it was a bad commercial as well, just protraying more minorities receiving benefits paid for by “someone else”. For five years Obama has reigned as though the mainly white taxpayers of this country don’t exist, except as a vague source of funding for the gibsmedats...

“gibsmedats”.....funny.....Maybe that’s what we should call the Democrat Party from now on - The Gibsmedats Party.

“And it certainly doesn’t mean they are not getting subsidies, as this ad was offering to the young who can’t afford ObamaCare.”

The commercial made it very clear who the beneficiaries of this new “benefit” are going to be; we’ve already given free healthcare to unassimilated minorities through MedicAid; now we’ll add another layer of wards of the state through ObamaCare. As for the elderly Americans with chronic conditions this was pitched to - they’ll get death panels.

I borrowed that from another FReeper; thought it was spot on. There is no other way to fit so much into as few words as possible...

"Analysts at the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation maintain that even if youth enrollment remains unchanged at 25 percent, it would add only 2.4 percent to 2015 premiums because the law taxpayers compensate insurers for unexpected losses."

There, fixed.

Does this add assume the 18 - 26 year olds on their parents’ plans are going to give up “free” insurance for government subsidized crap care?

Yes, if the parents tell them their portion of the premium is unaffordable and they must pay for it themselves.

No one ever said that keeping the adult children on the policy would be free or even affordable.

Obama’s plan to nationalize healthcare is working by convincing doctors to abandon their private practice for a steady job in a hospital.
