President Obama on Friday will travel to California to announce new executive actions to combat the state's drought and will attribute the growing frequency of such conditions to climate change.
Obama will announce the expediting of $100 million in assistance for livestock producers, $60 million in food-bank funding for families affected by the drought and another $15 million for areas nationwide most severely harmed by dry conditions.
But on a broader level, the president will use his trip to Fresno, Calif. to urge leaders to do more to fight climate change.

Climate change/globul warming is not selective. What will 0bama call the freezing weather in the east?
He wants to spend $1 BILLION more on global warming.
Just before running off to Palm Springs for the long weekend.
They need a speech of some kind, too, I guess.
Good thing we just got an increase in our credit limit.
You guys at the FResno HQ have enough duck calls?
Heard on the radio today, that after all the hoopla about California’s current drought, this one is the worst in 10 years...
SAY WHAT?
We even have freeway signs telling us to save water. The hoopla over the last few months made it sound like this was the worst drought since record-keeping began.
nope
The dumbass needs to link it to the DemocRAT freak show running the entire state.
“Climate change” is such a useful Newspeak phrase: it can denote what the English “climate change” denotes, the indubitable fact that climate changes over time (of which droughts in regions not formerly experiencing them is an example); it can denote the dubious theory that mean global temperature is increasing; it can denote the even more dubious theory that not only is mean global temperature increasing, but moreover that this is due to the use of hydrocarbon fuels; or probably half a dozen other related notions, all as serve the interest of The Party in expanding the reach of the omnicompetent state.
I remember watching Johnny Carson back in the ‘70’s when Cali was going through a dry spell. Because of the water regulations, he said it was ok to wash his car, but not ok to hose off his tennis court. So he washed his car ON his tennis court. Not sure if he was joking.
Just one more Dem fiasco.
Obama comes to Rancho Mirage, CA so as to hold a weekend conference with King Abdula of Jordan. Right, I am really sure that Abdula who lives in a desert wants to come to a California desert. What is at play here is that the US taxpayers will foot the bill for Obama to fly to CA so that he can do fund raising in Fresno. The Rancho Mirage meeting is just a cover. Consider that Abdula will be in Washington next week. Say what???
Not only that, his Secret Service contingent is creating a nightmare here in the Coachella Valley which is one of the prime winter resort areas in the US. We have three airports here. Two of them will not be allowing any general aviation flights from Friday to Monday afternoon. No general aviation flights within a 10 mile radius of the Sunnyland estate in Rancho Mirage. Plus, all general aviation flights more than 10 miles but within a 30 mile radius which takes in our only remaining airport in Thermal must get prior approval.
Then we have the matter of the closure of two main 4 lane arterial roadways which usually carry a great deal of traffic. There is far more traffic and it is far closer to the White House than the traffic on the roads around the Sunnyland estate.
The major hospital in this valley, Eisenhower Medical Center, is just down the road from Sunnyland. The closing of Bob Hope Drive will shut off the main northern access to the hospital resulting in a several mile detour.
This is a holiday weekend. This valley is chock full of out of town visitors. Many businesses will be shut down for “security” reasons at one of our busiest weekends. Fund raising plans previously scheduled for the Sunnyland estate had to be cancelled. Will the Democrat Party reimburse the charitable organizations? Not likely.
If he were as powerful as his press alludes, he would just sign an Executive Order directing God to make the drought go away.
Well, yess. CLimate is, indeed changing, as it has been doing for a billion years or so.
He did promise change.
hmmm. I didn’t hear anything about the mismanagement of the Sierra Nevada reservoirs but the Department of Reclamation...
So now the tab for saving a couple delta smelt, which AREN’T endangered, is over 1 billion not counting the devastation of the crops.
It closes 8 airports Friday to Monday.
I hope there is a fire and the water dropping aircraft are grounded because of him as they are in Hemmit which is one of the airports affected.
Man, what a mess. That’s amazing.
