A survey of academics not unlike an asylum of newspaper reporters ....demonstrates right there the basis for this survey being as legitimate as Barry Sotero's birth certificate.

Upon hearing that Michelle was chosen as the fifth Best Lady, Obama reflexively responded with, "that ain't no lady, it's the woman I arranged this sham marriage with to hide the fact that I'm gay".

Reasons why survey is a total farce.
*Article is written by the AP. Strike 1.
*That they equate scholars with academics .Strike 2
*Three of the top Five First Ladies are Democrats, Abigail Adams, Dolly Madison both politically anachronistic.Strike 3
*The mere fact that Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama appear in the top 5 as we know them to be is reason enough to disparage the survey. Strike 4.
*Siena College as the source of the survey is notorious for being left-wing. Strike 5
*Sotero's status as decidedly non-eligible as President has her showing up even as the Worst First Lady is moot.Strike 6
*Name one item of First Lady-type behavior that would have Michelle eligible to be included on the list. Strike 7

I never knew an “academic” that knew much about the real world……..

The reason Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton are on the list is because the “scholars” questioned have no idea who the First Ladies were before Jackie Kennedy. Although it appears that they watched enough movies to know who Eleanor Roosevelt was.

I always knew she was very liberal but I saw a show on maybe
“The History Channel” maybe somewhere else that made me think she was an outright communist.

I think Hillary is too. I think Michelle probably doesn’t know what she is.

The best first lady was James Buchanan's wife.

He was a bachelor (smart man).

In my opinion, the best First Lady would be one that almost no one knows who they are.

Can they not just be the wife of the president, rather than undertaking some great ‘social cause’ that virtually no one seriously gives a damn about?

The only true accomplishment of our current First Lady is making already bad government school meals, even worse... Ironically, she’s apparently obsessed with kids not having an ass as big as her own.

MoocHell Obama is not a real “First Lady” in any case. The best that she could hope for is “First INGRATE”. The sooner that her fat arse is moved out of that “Fancy Prison” that she calls OUR White House, the better.

The best first lady is one who, while fleeing for their dear life, sees fit to at least save the WH portrait of George Washington.

Can you imagine the Mooch saving that portrait? The “all for a little flag” woman would probably burn it.

Even though their husbands weren’t the best Presidents, I always admired Barbara and Laura Bush. They brought class to the White House. Unfortunately, that class disappeared with the First Thug and his home girl.

Laura Bush, imo, was the perfect First Lady.

She had style. She was independent of her husband’s responsibilities yet supportive. She loved the American people. She was also very friendly, yet mature.

I am not a Canadian citizen have neither love nor hate for the country. To be fair, this survey, whatever you derive out of it has nothing to do with Canada, is not reason to disparage Canada. God knows they've got plenty of other reasons for that.

I saw this article and thinking it as post-worthy and put it up.

The Montreal Gazette is one of 667,000 news sources that picked up the AP story from across the World and the US on the Siena College survey, the college located in Loudonville, New York.

Actually, I think Mamie Eisenhower may have been one of the best. As I remember, she behaved with dignity, but never tried to interfere in politics. Which is as it should be.

I like first ladies or first gentlemen who blend into the background. They should have useful, but not political causes, like disabled vets or sick children. They shouldn’t do things like hang condoms on the White House Christmas tree, or spend fortunes on extravagance. They should show a little respect for the American people, at least giving the pretense of feeling grateful and honored to be where they are, not acting like some kind of celebrity pop star to be adored by fans.

Michelle is an insecure cow who isn’t comfortable in her own skin, and she tries to overcome that by extravagance. Nothing could possibly make her look better, not even following her own dietary advise. A real man might help her gain a little self respect and confidence, but she is unlikely to get help from her effeminate faggot.

I am very glad Dolly made the list because she invented ice cream. To me that is an outstanding event, much more important than trying to starve kids the way Michelle is doing.

Martha Washington was certainly one of the best. She worked tirelessly to help the Revolutionary troops and wounded; and also hosted visiting dignitaries virtually every evening of her husband’s residence at Mount Vernon, where the Founding was discussed endlessly. She also ran his large plantation and export business during the many times he was away as a General or as President.

In my lifetime, the presidents I remember (I don’t remember Truman, my first president) were married to Mamie Eisenhower, Jackie Kennedy, Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, Betty Ford, Rosalynn Carter, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama.

Eisenhower was a good officer’s wife.
Kennedy was discreet.
Lady Bird was awkward
Pat was dignified
Betty was troubled
Rosalyn was supportive
Nancy was a flake
Barbara was insightful
Hillary was scheming
Laura was outreaching
Michelle was background

If I had to pick one that would fit in as a ceremonial head of state, I’d pick Barbara Bush. Just my humble opinion.

What a disgrace to say that Roosevelt, Moose and Slick Willie’s wife can even come close to Abigail Adams. This “poll” is FOS.
