A survey of academics has found that Eleanor Roosevelt was the nation's best first lady. Michelle Obama ranks fifth.
The findings from the Siena College/C-SPAN poll were released Saturday.
Hillary Clinton dropped from fourth to sixth since the last survey in 2008.

I had a good laugh when I read what was considered in the poll.

Michelle Obama must be outstanding in being her own woman, because she sucks rocks on every other category.
True, quite true but “LIBERAL academics” is a redundancy.
Anyone who supports butchering unborn babies is anything but a class act. Same for her Mother-in-Law.
What kind of scholars decided this?

But in a good way. One of my favorite books is, “Those Who Love”, her biography by Irving Stone. Much of it is taken from letters between her and John. She was one tough lady, holding the home together for years at a time during his travels abroad, doing manual labor like a field hand, etc. And his melancholy personality would’ve been a bitch to live with. I admire her.
I think she’d have been better paired with Samuel Adams than John.
These polls produced by colleges such as Siena are great tools in which to make chances of government largesse to the school much greater.
But in a good way.
Reality is rarely as attractive to leftie "scholars" as preconceived notions — in this case, that her brand of feminism would have been the same as today's. Actually, she is probably spinning in her grave. I'm already spinning, and not even dead yet.
The scholars got Abigail Adams mixed up with Amy Adams and voted for her because they thought she was hot in AMERICAN HUSTLE.

Eleanor was a confirmed liberal/socialist, a woman who couldn’t keep her nose out of all kinds of crisis situations where only the gummint was allowed to “help.” FDR was a political disaster, but she was worse.
According to the FBI files regarding Eleanor Roosevelt, she was a key leader, member, and/or participant in a very wide variety of Communist organizations. FBI and Army counterintelligence records also reported on her extra-marital heterosexual and Lesbian affairs. Some of these reports indicate the Clinton’s were certainly not the first to engage in lurid sexual escapades in the White House.
I seem to recall that lipreaders determined that she said: “All this for a damn flag.” Looked that way to me. Viewable on YouTube.
