If the threat of getting run over by a car or truck doesn’t deter jaywalking, I seriously doubt a ticket will.

In Bangkok with its notoriously bad drivers and traffic jams, the city built “walk over” pedestrian bridges at all the bad intersections. No one is willing to climb up the stairs. Only the elevated walkway near Siam Paragon is used. The others are bypassed in favor of darting through traffic at extreme risk to life and limb. They frequently make it. ;-)

Everybody hates Bill de Blasio. What kind of guy makes up his own name and puts “de” in it?

Yeah, the idiot ideologue who doesn't look up from his copy of the Commie Manifesto, who forced teachers and kids to travel to school under extremely dangerous conditions in a Nor'easter to watch films or do busywork---that's a real great start to traffic safety.

He’ll need to have the cops writing the tickets at city limits, to catch people as they leave for good. Thanks Brad from Tennessee.

This is getting really good, hope I don’t run out of popcorn.
I’ve blamed New Yorkers on their choice for mayor, but that choice has turned out to be the best comedy I’ve ever seen.

I finally went to New York in 2011. My husband and I always wanted to go there...and to Yellowstone. We had traveled the world but didn't know our own country.
So when he passed I decided to see those two places. I LOVED New York and now I know why they call it the Big Apple. It is a fabulous city. I would not want to live there as there are WAY too many people, but it IS fabulous.
I did also go, a week later, to Yellowstone. That is ALSO a FABULOUS place, as different from New York as two places could be but I loved it THERE too.
We DO live in a wonderful country, don't we?
This year I am going on a trip down the Mississippi River on a paddle wheeler, from Memphis to New Orleans, two more places I don't know.
Then, this fall, to Boston to see the changing of the leaves. I know my husband is looking down at me and happy that I am doing the things he and I had always wanted to do.

I visited NYC back in 1983.
And I live within shouting distance of Yellowstone but I don’t go there. Too damn many people.
I have only traveled half the world. Never been to the far east.
I took my wife on a drive for 10 days along the Oregon coast for our 20th five years ago.
And they say Columbus discovered a new world. Ha ha ha
Good on you CM.
Good on you.
To: Brad from Tennessee
Well. aren’t all these jaywalking tickets adding to the public coffers? This communist is what they wanted, so there ya go.

Drop the speed limit to 2 mph (half of a good walking speed).Close the streets off to vehicular traffic...
