A man who was charged with shooting a 15-year-old girl and her mother outside of their Romeoville home this week had threatened to rape and kidnap the girl last year and was ordered by a judge to stay away from them, according to court documents.
Erick M. Maya, 23, of the 5600 block of Park Avenue in Cicero was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, said Will County States Attorney James Glasgow. Maya had a previous dating relationship with the girl, police said.
Bail was set at $5 million dollars this morning for the man charged in connection with a shooting that left the mother and daughter wounded outside of their home on Thursday.
In December, a Will County judge granted the girls mother an emergency order of protection against Maya. In her request, the mother said Maya texted her daughters friend saying he was going to bring 30 guys to my house and rape her and her daughter and then kidnap her daughter and take her somewhere I wont find her and rape her.
The mother, who the Tribune is not naming because she is a crime victim, also said she was aware that Maya had a gun and that he kept it under his mattress.

restraining orders don’t keep bad people away
A restraining order isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.
” was ordered by a judge to stay away from them “
There you have it then... a tough Chicago judge..
Eric is probably still laughing.. I myself am chuckling..
Democrats attacking democrats something right about that..
Now if the chick had a decent father, uncle, brother or grand father..
Eric might get a “stern” talking to.... “or something”...
It’s more useful if you own a gun and end up shooting the creep that attempts to harm you. That way you can claim that you took legal steps to get the nut away from you, and since that didn’t work, you killed him to protect yourself.
restraining orders should come with a firearm attached .
It would seem to be that women involved in a separation or divorce should get over their hatred of guns and arm themselves. And a ban on firearms wouldn't protect them either. Most men are stronger than their mates and could just as well kill with knives or clubs.
Why is this under “alien”? I can’t see that it says he was an illegal alien. If so, it did say he was a felon
Sorry, I see there is a ICE hold on him
