Is Public Education Hurting More Than Helping Our Kids?

“I trudged the several blocks home from school, satchel in hand. It was a beautiful, golden afternoon, and I was ready for some adventure. I had a little homework, but that could wait until after supper. My parents knew that kids needed time to play and there was only so much daylight left. My best friend and I spent the afternoon exploring in the nearby woods and seeking out “evil” boys to annoy. We got home in time for supper and had plenty of time to finish our homework before bed. I don’t remember ever being stressed about tests and grades in elementary school. School was a relatively comfortable place, although it really did not compare with free time to play outside.”

It’s a main course of public indoctrination, with a small side-dish of education. Avoid if at all possible.

SCHOOLING DOES NOT EQUAL EDUCATION

I liked our country better when we didn't take formal education very seriously.

A problem with fixing education is that it is like the old adage: Congress sucks, except for my congressman.

At the micro level: I have kids learning a great deal about Organic Chemistry and Compiler Design.

At the macro level: Colleges are marxist indoctrination centers, the Dept of Education should be de-funded.

Yes, it’s hurting more than helping, with its leftist agenda and re-written history. And the school aren’t enough, we’ve got to have it forced on us in tv programming.

The Catholic schools used to be the best. They identified about 13 different learning styles and could and did teach to them.

Is Public Education Hurting More Than Helping Our Kids?

The easy answer is YES. But with proper involvement by parents the answer is NO.

Government takeover of the schools has moved them from education to indoctrination of leftist dogma and political correctness.

"Is Public Education Hurting More Than Helping Our Kids?"

Allow me to answer this question with a question whose answer, with due reflection, will, hopefully, become rather simple and clear to many: Is fecal matter generally given to being malodorous?
