LONDON (AP) - Prince William and Prince Harry helped flood-hit British villagers protect their homes Friday, unloading sandbags alongside soldiers in a River Thames village.

The princes, who have both served in the armed forces, joined a work crew In Datchet, west of London, from about 6 a.m. on what aides said was a private visit.

The princes were not the only royals helping out. Their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, has sent feed and bedding from the royal farms at Windsor to farmers whose land has been inundated.

I don't know if Elizabeth has the authority to do it, but if the queen ever calls me for advice, I'd tell her to make William first in line for succession.

Make Prince Charles the Governor-General of the Cayman Islands. Tell him to report there immediately.

Why is it when celebrity do what ordinary people do, it's some great news?

Great PR is more like it.

Apparently Diana introduced some much needed DNA to that family tree trunk.

That’s what I was thinking. Its not like they do this for a living. Sandbag for a couple hours for the camera then go home. Harry should have remained on active duty.

If their dipstick father becomes King, the monarchy will collapse

I think Diana’s bodyguard introduced the much needed DNA.

Good for the young Princes...what they are doing was no publicity stunt, but I believe a real desire to help their countrymen. However, where was Prince Chuck? I suppose he was haranguing crowds about their carbon emissions and global warming being the cause of these floods.

Elizabeth's family has done this all along. Her father, King George VI, and her mother, stayed in London, all during WWII, because they believed they should share in the dangers of all Londoners. Elizabeth, the heir to the throne, worked as Mechanic in the British Army.

So there IS a history of service in their family, Diana just brought along the idea of working, personally, with 'commoners', which to me, was just a simple progression of all royalty, in the 20th century.

Oh, please! That attention addict was good at showing up at a charity event dressed to the nines and smiling for the cameras. These boys are actually pitching in and doing something.

As for the DNA, read about QE2’s parents during the Blitz.

If the “Boys” were there for more than a few hours, I’d be impressed. Since they were both recent Military they should be in condition to do so.
