This isn't hard to figure out. He was a political appointee to a law enforcement agency. He found out the extent to which he was being asked to refrain from enforcing the law and even to circumvent the law and quite possibly probably the extent to which he was being required to violate the law. It wasn't exactly what he thought he was signing up for so now he is leaving. And we will never hear another word about it.
