In the 1950s/early 60s, Moynihan worked for the Department of Labor in Washington, DC. One of his employees was odd fellow named Ralph Nader.

One day, Nader entered Moynihan’s office and whispered, “Our phones are tapped; someone is listening in to our phone calls.”

Moynihan’s response was classic. “Don’t worry about it...nothing we do here is all that importaint, anyway.”
