LETTER: Don’t vote for ‘anybody but Cornyn’ (by Dwayne Stovall's campaign manager)
Deer Park News ^ | 2/17/14 | Brett Rogers

Posted on 02/17/2014 11:42:01 AM PST by jimbo123

The Republican Primary election in Texas is not about whether John Cornyn is re-elected or whether "anybody but Cornyn" wins.

The 2014 mid-term election is not even about whether the Democrat or the Republican wins.

For Texans, this election is about one thing and one thing only: protecting and defending Texas.

Texas is an economic juggernaut, fueled by the hard work and ingenuity of its 26 million people. Political leaders emerge from Texas all of the time, and that's because Texans understand and adhere to freedom and the 10th Amendment. It's the Texas heritage. If you're a true Texan, it's in your blood. If you're a true Texan, you fight for your independence, no matter the odds.

I'm the campaign manager for Dwayne Stovall, and if you're a Republican in Texan, this election has deep importance to you.

Texas and America are under attack by political forces that would steal your freedoms from you. There are some who argue that by choosing to primary John Cornyn, Dwayne Stovall hurts the Republican Party. For those believe that, it's important to attend to the passions of your fellow Republicans.

Many Republicans are angry at John Cornyn. To anyone who's paying attention to what's happening in Washington, Cornyn has become part of the attack on Texas and America and freedom. He and Mitch McConnell are not the embodiment of everything Republican in the U.S. Senate.

They are just two men, and those two men thwarted the majority of their caucus by choosing to vote for cloture which allowed the Democrats to raise the debt. They betrayed the Republican Party and sided with the Democrats. As a result, Texans and future Texans now have a greater burden of debt placed upon them.

history repeats: this is a replay of supposedly conservative republicans starting to attacking other conservatives instead of maintaining focus on the leftist cornyn. too bad. now cornyn will get his divide and conquer strategy going ala romney.

thus we know about stovall. stovall == ego.

I'm voting - with anger - against Cornyn but am happy to accomplish that by voting for Stovall.

This was very well written and I take his message to heart. Dwayne Stovall is fortunate to have a Texas patriot like Brett Rogers for a campaign manager. It speaks well for Stovall's judgment to have this man on his team and his motives for running to replace Cornyn.

I'm voting in the Texas Primary tomorrow and Dwayne Stovall has my support.

Horsecrap. Everybody in Texas is focused on Cornyn. Stovall is just saying to vote for him. He isn't attacking anyone.

And early voting starts tomorrow. There isn't much of a race left.

There is a big difference- I don't care if the vote is split 100 ways in this election- the more the better!!

because unlike the stupid GOP Presidential primaries, a candidate who does not get >50% faces a RUN-OFF election between him and number 2. And the incumbent usually loses in those cases.

REMEMBER ONLY ABOUT 10% OF VOTERS TURN OUT FOR PRIMARIES!!!

YOUR VOTE IS WORTH 10 TIMES AS MUCH!!!

If EACH of you only gets one or two other people out to vote it will be a major defeat for the GOP elite.

Stockman will get plenty of votes and so will Stovall who comes from a well populated area of influence.

May they all, I pray, get enough votes gathered against Cornyn to force the hoped for run-off!

Amen Rita.

i hope someone on the ground there in tx tells both stockman and stovall and their campaigns to keep chipping away at cornyn. not the other challengers. they can let texas choose between them on the merits.

Stovall, of Cleveland, TX, is in Stockman’s 36th U.S. House District. In 2012, Stovall lost the Republican primary in state House District 18 to John Otto of Dayton, TX, who polled 2/3 of the vote. Stockman has won two races for the U.S. House but has lost many other races. I don’t think John Cornball, however, has ever been defeated in a race.
