The article is rather silly. When someone like Jesse Jackson says that Thomas Sowell or Larry Elder isn't "really black," we think that's wrong. Why get started on what's a "real woman"? I think biology makes it pretty clear.

It’s insufferably arrogant for people to assume the role of the gatekeeper of blackness, or whiteness, or whatever. If you share their political views, you’re genuine [whatever]; otherwise you’re not. How foolish and arrogant.
It quicker to attack someone’s identity, and thereby dismiss him or her from the conversation, than to address an argument.
