All the major Statewide Offices have multiple GOP candidates vying for
the nomination. This should make for a better turnout during this primary.
Also the Lt Gov is the only race with an incumbent running. In addition
the US Senate race seems to have taken on some interest.
So Texas may see somewhat of a larger turnout than in normal non presidential years.
Governor
Lieutenant Governor - incumbent running
Attorney General
Comptroller of Public Accounts
Land Commissioner
Agriculture Commissioner
Railroad Commissioner

You mean statewide (other than Senator)? State Senate? State House? Thanks.
No Rep voted for Obamacare. But I venture say that many of them will favor repairing or mending it rather than repealing it.
Gov, lt. gov, attny general and the rest
(Regardless of all the c**p, he's a good man and deserves to have his last name spelled correctly. That's all!)
For many conservatives, no. But you can't win a state wide election on the conservative vote alone. Akin's comments would have cost him big time among older voters, independents, moderate Democrats, and some Republicans.
A good Conservative can articulate these visions.
Akin couldn't articulate his way out of a wet paper bag. He proved that with the mess he did get himself into.
As I said, again, McCaskill took a risk. I might remind you that Steelman had her own baggage. Did you forget the lengths to which the MO GOP sandbagged her primary candidacy for Governor ? I think more than a few establishment types in the party wouldve more than helped McCaskill to eke out a win in the general, so the result wouldve been the same.
And yet McCaskill actively supported Akin's candidacy. Not Steelman's. Not Brunner. She knew. And after Akin stuck his foot in it so did the rest of the state. The money McCaskill spent in support of Akin in the primary was probably the best money she spent in the entire campaign.
Very seldom does one see such a winnable race go so very bad.
Haven’t voted yet, but leaning in this direction...
Governor: Greg Abbott
Lieutenant Governor: Todd Staples
Attorney General: Ken Paxton
Comptroller: Glenn Hegar
Agriculture Commissioner: Sid Miller
Railroad Commissioner: Wayne Christian
Land Commissioner: David Watts (Stay away from da Bushes!)
Claire dug a hole and walked Akin right in it.
Why Todd Staples over Dan Patrick?
We’re going to vote for Stovall. Ken Cope is our second choice. Glad to see someone even bringing up his name.
Hey Jane - Been trying to do some research but it’s pretty sparse for some people. Why Hegar over Hilderbran, Miller over Carnes and Christian over Sitton? I do believe Cruz gave a shout out to Sitton. If you have anything specific to share on these folks, would appreciate it.
Agree on Governor, Lt. Gov, AG and Land Commissioner. BTW, saw George P’s campaign ad the other day - he’s “solidly behind Texans” and is against abortion and increasing taxes. Not sure what either has to do with being Land Commissioner. Talk about somebody who knows how to do nothing.
You message has the feel of “concern trolling.”
You also seem unaware of the fact that Missouri Democrats helped Tod Akin in the primary, precisely because he had a tendency to mouth off and was a scary ideologue.
Had the alternative that most conservatives wanted won the Missouri Primary, we likely wouldn’t have had someone as tone deaf as Tod Akin running for the seat in the first place.

Why Todd Staples over Dan Patrick?”
Was going to vote for Staples anyway but heard more negatives on Patrick today while I was driving across town. Wish I could remember specifics but too much other stuff going on at the time. Comments were on 740 and I believe source was from something Michael Berry put together. I do know that Patrick is one of those that gets more conservative the closer it gets to election time and was one of those who regularly and loudly bashed Ted Cruz while supporting Dewhurst. If for no other reason than that, at this time I would not vote for Patrick.
Todd Akin, really! Why don’t you use Mike Castle name instead or John Mccain. Their record of aiding liberalism is worse than Akin’s inarticulate comment in favor of life.
Put a Texas flag up on your profile page and tell us a bit about yourself. You’re on a good roll here, and that will help.
