Rocker Ted Nugent hijacks attention in race for Texas governor

Texas voters got their first chance to cast ballots Tuesday for the March 4 primaries, but rabble-rousing rocker Ted Nugent stole the show as early voting began.

Nugent, an outspoken gun rights activist, campaigned with Republican Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott Tuesday, sparking criticism from Democrats and state Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, who say he disrespects women and others.

“We don’t have to question Greg Abbott’s courage, because he invited me here today,” Nugent said during an event in Denton, later adding that a female politician similar to Davis created a “cesspool” under her leadership.

After casting her ballot in the Democratic Primary, Davis said Abbott’s decision to include Nugent in get-out-the-vote events shows what kind of man he is.

“Ted Nugent has a record of taking an approach to women that’s extremely demeaning, repulsive,” she said. “For Greg Abbott to embrace him, to stand with him, on this important day of voting, demonstrates what his values are. They are not in alignment with everyday Texans.”

Davis and Abbott are perceived as the front-runners in the March primaries and are expected to face each other in the Nov. 4 general election battle that will determine Texas’ next governor.

If anybody is attempting to hijack attention, it’s the child-abandoning Abortion Barbie herself.

“Ted Nugent has a record of taking an approach to women that’s extremely demeaning, repulsive,”

Just like you and your evil cohorts have a demeaning, repulsive view of the disabled? Not to mention that her treatment of men is worse than Nugent’s supposed “demeaning” treatment of women. It’s horrid to marry a guy to (unknowingly) be your sugar daddy, and then dump him because his usefulness has worn out. No one should be taking moral lessons from this dumb slut.

It’s like here at work....the company culture, the employees reek of liberalism (support global warming, gay marriage, etc). I am unapologetically conservative, I don’t hide my beliefs when challenged. Ofcourse, I may not keep my job long ;)

I saw his wife on TV (FNC IIRC) with him a few years back promoting their book, Kill It and Grill It. She was an attractive lady and well spoken. Looked to me like they had a great marriage and respected each other. Perhaps Mrs. Nugent should tweet something. That said, I suspect Ted wouldn’t want to look like he was “hiding behind a woman’s skirt” (those of us that have seen him and them wouldn’t think that, but I suspect Windbag and other Dims would bring that out).

Once again she pulls a “Biden” and says for Abbott “to stand with” Nugent show his oppinion of women.

As for Nugent, he just calls a spade a spade and a mongrel and mongrel.

They always need to create a bogeyman.

Stand up for traditional marriage. You suddenly hate people who cannot and do not want to have children, and you're out to deny basic human rights to same-sex adherents.

I worked at a labor union union of all places among rabid liberals. I never backed down from my conservative views and I actually got a few points across during some of my many conversations. It was maddening at times.

Marxists are always victims. Run on the issues Wendy and not on your sex. He has been married to his wife more years than she has both times.

The main difference between Wendy and Ann Richards is their choice of chemical dependency.

I’ve said it frequently ... Ted Nugent is a pig. Having him campaign for you should disqualify you for office. He defecated on himself to avoid the Draft. He had sex with underage girls routinely.

He is a coward. He is sub-human. He is to be shunned.

Been saying this for sometime now. The theme for the 2016 election is “war on women”. Last two elections was “race”.
Obama- race. Clinton- it’ll be war on women. Its all the liberals have, anything to cause a commotion. Nothing about the problems/solutions.

He has been married to his wife more years than she has both times.

Two wives, eight kids by half a dozen mothers, plus whatever that thing was with that 17 year old in Hawaii in the 70's? Ted Nugent is hardly a poster child for traditional marriage or respect for women so it's probably not surprising that Davis would try and make an issue out of it. But at the end of the day, Nugent's personal morality, or lack thereof, should not be an issue in the race. He isn't running.

:: Ted Nugent has a record of taking an approach to women that’s extremely demeaning, repulsive, she said. ::

(i) Wendy, please provide said “record” of “mysogeny” [my term].
(ii) Nugent is a private citizen and is protected by 1st Amendment considerations. Being an “entertainer” he must accept criticism of his music but slander and libel of his political views are...”dicey”; I don’t think he should agree to slander regarding his “politicval-citizen” statements. Wendy has opened herself up to LIBEL concerns that “Uncle Ted” can certainly afford to litigate.

BTW, “Uncle Ted” is an endearment many of us from SouthCentral Michigan have used since the 70s.
