Ketut Pujayasa admitted to investigators that he ambushed and savagely beat a 31-year-old American woman after she slighted him, reported the Sun Sentinel.
The devilish Indonesian citizen told the FBI he attacked the 31-year-old American after he knocked on her door several times during a breakfast delivery and she dissed him, saying, “Wait a minute, son of a bitch!”

A commenter on this story at another site indicated he was Hindu.
The article describes him as “devilish” (gotta love it), so maybe he’s a Satanist.

I have long said that the trouble on these cruise ships- from violence and theft to the sicknesses- is due to Third World employees. People from brutal, backward and dirty countries likely cause most of what’s wrong with the cruise ships. It wasn’t always like this.
Think that’ll affect his tip at the end of the cruise?
I bumped into some “Amish” Indonesians in Bali.
The Hindu population of Bali are wonderful.
The Amish Balinese are scary.
Probably much worse in Java.

There are very few Amish in Indonesia.
However, there is one religion that has wide acceptance in Indonesia. They tend to take harsh measures with their neighbors, and have been know to have very tender sensibilities, which stirs up their hostility and “sense of honor” to a disproportionate degree.
I wonder if this lady converted after the “prayer session” she went through with the ship’s steward.
No matter what she said, I gotta believe that if the door was still closed, she’s got a case...even if the door was wide open, she’s got a case. His only response should have been, “Excuse me?” or “Ma’am, would you prefer speaking to the Captain?” not physically attacking the woman. What an idiot!

Minor point, but “devilish” is a bizzare adjective to describe this guy. It really doesn’t mean “evil” anymore.

Is ‘devilish’ another word ‘they’ have stolen from us.
I kind of remember when you called someone ‘devilish’ it was meant to be he was somewhat of a scamp or ne’er do well, acting impishly.
When being called a devilish person, I conjure up a ‘carefree, fun loving gagster’, maybe acting on the ‘edge’ but generally not a ‘wicked or evil’ person???.
However, the (correct) interpretation here is he is quite evil - in regards to the rest of the story.

While Indonesia is predominately Muslism, it’s an “islander” version of it. Most of the people are pretty relaxed. If you ask them, they will of course say they are Muslim, but if you watched them for a day, you’d see they aren’t really a “practicing” Muslim.
Also most of Indonesia still holds on to their older roots of Animism (worship of plants, animals, whatever). They may say they are Muslim, but still believe a monkey crossing the road is an omen of an impending event by mother earth (I made that up for sake of an example).
Regardless, there are extremist groups on many of the islands so it’s not incorrect that he was some sicko, just can’t resist correcting the the claims on this thread that Indonesian Muslims are the exactly the same as Muslims in the Middle East. It is different there.
