The race for the U.S. Senate in Virginia looks like a barnburner. In one corner stands Mark R. Warner, the incumbent, former telecommunications entrepreneur, one-term governor, former state Democratic chairman and the newest member of the Senate Finance Committee.

In the other, Ed Gillespie, former chairman of both the Republican National Committee and the party in Virginia, political adviser to presidents and a successful businessman who has never held elective office.

Wouldn’t this just be a swap from one RINO to the next RINO?

How can the Dem (Warner) be a RINO (Republican in name only)?

Gillespie would be a RINO, but I am impressed by these numbers.

“leading Mr. Gillespie 44 percent to 38 percent”

If he can get the gap to 4 points, I’ll call it a real race.

A rino Republican is better than Warner. If you eliminated all of the rinos the Dem’s would be in absolute charge and nothing could stop them(a real conservative cannot hold some seats) at least with the rinos we can pt pressure on us and they agree with us at least some of the time. Some of them like Graham have got to go even if it means a Dem but you have to get pretty bad to be able to say that(aunt Lindsey is that bad).

Stand by for the slavering media to put Gillespie under a microscope 24/7. And if he has a “Macaca” moment, they’ll bludgeon him with it.

“How can the Dem (Warner) be a RINO (Republican in name only)?”

Probably because of the confusion of Mark Warner (D) replacing John Warner (R), who was a RINO, and who just endorsed Warner, rather than the republican candidate.

Robert Sarvis is being paid by the DNC to run again. I guess he did such a great job helping McAuliffe that he’s gotten another contract.(Sarcasm...but Sarvis really is running again.)

No, it would replacing a Democrat which in our current situation (going down for third time) is a win.

If Sarvis is really playing spoiler again, Ed needs to expose him in ads early on. Hit him hard that he’s taking Virginian’s choice away with his political games.

Exactly. The GOP lost this campaign when they failed to help Cuccinelli. The Clinton Machine will ensure a Warner win.
