He political resume is lacking, OK.
But, I would still love to see him in the race. A black conservative, particularly a veteran, scares the daylights out of the Left establishment. Herman Cain stated as a primary candidate in 20111-2012 that he could get 1/3 of the black vote. That alone is enough to give the lefties a serious headache.
IMO, Herman Cain mobilized the Left to push amnesty. One, two or three black conservatives on the national level could confound the hammerlock that the Democrats have on the black voters, permanently.

Allan West would scare nobody on the other side of the aisle, because all of them would see his candidacy for what it was, hopeless. I would rather support candidates that they really would be scared of and not waste time on someone that can easily dismiss.
