FCC Agency study could stifle freedom of the press, says FCC official

An Obama administration plan that would get researchers into newsrooms across the country is sparking concern among congressional Republicans and conservative groups.

The purpose of the proposed Federal Communications Commission study is to “identify and understand the critical information needs of the American public, with special emphasis on vulnerable-disadvantaged populations,” according to the agency.

However, one agency commissioner, Ajit Pai, said in a Wall Street Journal op-ed piece Wednesday that the May 2013 proposal would allow researchers to “grill reporters, editors and station owners about how they decide which stories to run.”

He also said he feared the study might stifle the freedom of the press.

Here is the WSJ article they are referring to:

The FCC Wades Into the Newsroom.

Why is the agency studying ‘perceived station bias’ and asking about coverage choices?

http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304680904579366903828260732

“But everyone should agree on this: The government has no place pressuring media organizations into covering certain stories.

Unfortunately, the Federal Communications Commission, where I am a commissioner, does not agree. Last May the FCC proposed an initiative to thrust the federal government into newsrooms across the country. With its “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs,” or CIN, the agency plans to send researchers to grill reporters, editors and station owners about how they decide which stories to run. A field test in Columbia, S.C., is scheduled to begin this spring. “

This is a chilling and very revealing attack against liberty by the administration. Its pretty obvious where they are going with this and it must be stopped.

By that same token's other side:

“But everyone should agree on this: The government has no place pressuring media organizations into NOT covering certain stories............

....and this surprises anyone, HOW.

Mark my words: In Obama’s third (and final) term of office — the one that starts in 2017 and never ends — there will be death camps and political murder squads. COUNT ON IT.

The Inner Party wants Ministry Of Truth (MINTRU) overseers in newsrooms throughout the country to make sure only the latest revisions of approved government propaganda are disseminated to the proles.

Sounds eerily familiar, doesn’t it?

Federal Regulators are in Banks, so why not in editorial rooms of the Left Stream Media?

Hitler was elected by “the people”.

Obama was elected by “the people.”

Hitter had his Gestapo.

Obama has his Regulators.

This is all part of the 80 Year Dictator Cycle.

FORWARD !

The purpose of the proposed Federal Communications Commission study is to “identify and understand the critical information needs of the American public, with special emphasis on vulnerable-disadvantaged populations,” according to the agency.

Minders?

Our 'free press' needs to ask themselves: "Would we go along with this if Bush had demanded minders be placed in our newsrooms - to assure Christian groups were being covered correctly?".

If they can't answer 'yes' to that question they need to reject Obama's goons. There's no difference.

Even the New York Times and Washington Post are smart enough to figure this one out...

Perhaps also, Ukrane, here we come.

Sooner or later, we are going to have to settle this with liberals. And I propose being the opposite of nice to any who tries to be nice to a lib during the upcoming troubled times.

This is what happens when the media refuses to thoroughly vet a candidate simply because of his skin color. Had they done their job in the first pace, their freedoms, as well as every Americans freedom, would not be at risk today.
It's not like the patriots didn't try to warn them, either. They just chose not to listen. Now, THEIR chickens are coming home to roost. Now THEY'RE a target, too.

Herr Reichminister Goebbels is in full agreement with this development.
He understands the amount of damage to the STATE from a press that is free to do as it wills.
There will be “Guardians of the State” in newsrooms, radio stations, and the studios of television networks.
It is to be pointed out that the article mentions that Republicans and conservatives are “concerned”. There is not a mention of DEMOCRATs expressing any outrage. HMMMMM.

Why not just call them what they are: “Political Officer.”

Or whatever the Soviets called them.
