Former “Dirty Jobs” host Mike Rowe narrates a powerful new commercial released Thursday and it contains one powerful message: “Work is a beautiful thing.”

Who’s it for? Walmart.

“At one time I made things and I took pride in the things I made, and my belts whirred, and my engines cranked,” Rowe says in the video, delivering a monologue from the perspective of the factory as related images flash across the screen. “I opened my doors to all and together we filled pallets and trucks. I was mighty. And then one day the gears stopped turning.”

The commercial ends with a text overlay saying, “Over the next ten years, we’re putting $250 billion to work to help create new manufacturing jobs in America.”

The left is apoplectic.

To get it back from China would be a moderate miracle. The things that sabotage it, virtually all come from a loss of the sense of God and God's love. That was the thing that commonly kept US capitalism from getting utterly cut throat. Don't think that capitalism sans God isn't any less cut throat because it's going on out of our sight and coming in neat containers. The left isn't weeping over Chinese sweatshops, demanding the things that have become de rigueur in the USA.

Like it says in this song (laugh at it or no), by the loyal love of God above, the "redneck" (of all colors) "gits 'er done."

Rednecks Built America

Rowe will probably get subpoenaed by Holder’s JustUs Dept for engaging in hate speech against the downtrodden non working unions.

Well, I do know that the only box of toothpicks I could find in it... “made in China.” What happened to the old American brands?

Rowe seems perplexed by the outcry....I didn’t consider him to be a political wonk....just a working stiff who has a great voice and uses it to make a living.

If Jesus showed God's love to us while we were yet sinners, then is it not our job to show God's love to sinners in our Christian goal of becoming like Christ?
So then, could it not be that the primary people at fault for [society] losing a sense of God's love the Christian?

This makes much sense if 2 Chronicles 7:14 can be applied to the Christian church:
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Yep. I agree. I appreciate his sense of humor and giving kudos to under appreciated Americans who do the daily hard and nasty work that has to be done for the rest of us to live in comfort.

Well, Rowe touched a nerve.

I don’t think this is the same Rowe who cleverly started a little computer programming business he called Mike Rowe Soft. The Microsoft Corporation took umbrage, of course, and sued. He ended up changing its name, and Microsoft did offer him a consolation of some training courses in Microsoft software.

If Ben Walton was alive today.......he’d be buying products as cheap as he could find and not care what country it’s from.

Forster [Fryeburg, Me] used to make the BEST toothpicks.....and wooden clothes pins! Sadly their plant closed. Maine also lost their last sardine processing plant. These are things I’d like to see restored. Americana.

Government regulation kills these small industries.

I used to go into small stores up in the northwoods and be able to find old inventory.....but no more.

I fear that most people who have been repeating that verse only think of it in terms of standards of public decency. But standards of public decency aren’t necessarily more loving and they might even be less loving if they serve to hide a bunch of whited sepulchers. Better that garbage look like honest garbage, than like dishonest food.

But that’s where we get those puzzling charity verses. Do justice to the orphan and the widow. Stop grinding their face in the dirt. Stuff which conservatives have let liberals walk away the cause of, because the heart went out of the conservatives.

And that heart will not be back until we prize God most of all, even above any mortal gift He could manifest on earth.

I heard him on the radio today and he basically said they hired him to do the narration. Doesn’t mean he endorses Walmart but he does like the idea of getting jobs back to the U.S. Who else is gonna write a check/attempt to spend a quarter of a trillion dollars. The “lyin’ king”? Prolly not. He might spend that much trying to bring the country down.

Mike Rowe doesn’t get enough credit for Ford’s resurgence.

IMO, his narration of the Ford commercials were quite appealing to the general public and had a great deal to do with attracting crossover customers that had previously driven other brands.
