Here in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, the most important thing coming out of a congress of pro-Yanukovych politicians is the sentiment that they don't want Ukraine to split but to remain united.

Kharkiv's regional governor, Mikhaylo Dobkin, told the meeting of MPs from predominantly Russian-speaking areas of eastern Ukraine and Crimea : "We're not preparing to break up the country. We want to preserve it."

What is the word for it when 2 groups claim to be a legitimate government in the same place?

Yep! Split it up into two or three separate governing bodies. That worked sooooo well in the little town of Berlin.

What a mess the Free Trader Communist Globalists have created in Ukraine...all because UKR govt did not want to join the EU.

Scary also how so many support the EU/Soros/McCain on here

Free trade globalists are a myth

Thousands of businesses capable of dealing all over the world tending to their capitalist knitting are the reality.

Isolationist Brigadeers are the bane of capitalism

I just read a European Conservative commentator say that this was the kind of uprising that the Western societies are no longer capable of!

Well in fairness, Governor Dobkin was talking about “not splitting” up Ukraine.

He didn’t say anything about his “not splitting” to Russia.

If I could ban you sad Putinista types from my threads, i'd do it in a heartbeat. Don't come around me spreading your pravda/RT/RN drivel.

Protesters won this battle against Yanukovich and he’s out of Kyiv. If they aggressively chase after him into the Eastern regions, the East might view it as “Banderite invasion”. The thing about his electorate is that their support of him so far is passive and it might not be wise to give them a reason to unite behind him. The message that the protesters have to convey is that their fight is against Yanukovich, not the East.
His authority in the east is being eroded as we speak:
- there are protests in the south-east (they don’t have the critical mass yet, but it’s progress),
- the statues are falling,
- prominent eastern oligarchs stated that they do no support separating from Ukraine
- the mayor of Dnipropetrovsk left the Regions Party and the city council made a statement that they’re against separating from Ukraine, etc.
So it’s likely that this erosion will continue organically until he’s forced to flee.

Or everything above is gibberish, and Maidan Army shouldn’t stop to give him a chance to reorganize. It doesn’t step off the gas pedal until Yanukovich has bullet in his head.
