I was just watching a science clip on this. The conclusion is it’s physically sound, but technologically achievable today and perhaps never politically achievable.

That movie was creepy.
When you are out “wheeling” and you use an old wench cord that breaks it makes a fine fast moving mess with forth feet. Now multiply that by 3 million.
That is always a risk with any major endeavor, but should not change our resolve to innovate.
A structure for angels is not one for flesh and blood humans, though. Note that Jacob (Israel) himself did not ascend the structure in his vision.
