The spokesman for Afghanistan's Taliban says they have suspended "mediation" with the United States to exchange captive U.S. soldier Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five senior Taliban prisoners held in U.S. custody in Guantanamo Bay.
In a terse emailed statement Sunday, Zabihullah Mujahed blamed the "current complex political situation in the country" for the suspension of what was considered the best chance of securing Bergdahl's freedom since his capture in 2009. It is the first official acknowledgement of indirect talks with the U.S. to free Bergdahl.
Bergdahl, 27, of Hailey, Idaho, was last seen in a video released in December, footage seen as "proof of life"

It’ s up to SpecOps to save his butt at this point , or maybe George Soros could oay a ransom. Bail out a wayward pot smoker. He should be able to relate to that....
I find it odd how a rag-tag band of koran thumping goat humpers who fifteen years ago ruled little more than the poppy fields of afghanistan, now have regional field offices, official press releases and spokespeople, and an openly recruit like-minded hotheads by internet and other means with virtual impunity. A more conspiratorial person than myself might think we designed it that way.
I don’t disagree but he may not be alive. The US is a joke to our enemies. We can release them and they can tell us to go pound sand. What is potus going to do?

I think we should just start killing the taaahleebaan leadership one by one until they release him, if he is still alive and once we have him back we should just continue killing them until they either understand OUR position of strength or they are all dead. The latter works just fine for me.

Maybe George Soros will help pay for a ransom? As Harry Reid said, showing zero ability to emphathize; “Why would I do that?”. I do recall hearing suspicions that Bo had been AWOL before he was caught. I do believe if we start trading horses as it were, we will end up like in Israel. That’s one of the few things I disagree with the country of Israel about, their tendency to trade one of native Israeli for 100 filthy terrorists who have no remorse at all.
