1. “The Dalai Lama is a personal friend of my son, the documentary film maker. Son went to Tibet, made it up those high mountains and has stayed with the Dalai Lama there and they have met twice since then (I don't remember if another one of those times was again in Tibet) and are friends. Dalai Lama is a gentle, sweet man wanting humankind to be kind. There is not an angry word in his vocabulary. It was terrible when China came in as they have no respect for this gentle man.
Yes his is a gentle, sweet man, all good about him. The Tibetans deserve him; there's not much else good in their lives.

2. I'm trying to remember, but I think in that first film, the child to be the next Lama had been chosen and was in that film. I could be wrong about that as the first film was a while ago. Sometimes I get to see the films son does, but some I do not see. I have a movie CD player that has the British system on it so I can see these films. The British system is different from ours and if you don't have that system you cannot see films from there. When a British one is put in my player, it senses the system and uses the British system to show it.
Yes, they have the NEXT dalai lama picked WAY ahead of time. The boys come from the common folks but I can't remember why. I think that's a good thing.

3. It's also possible the Dalai Lama film was shown in this country on Discovery or History or National Geographic channel. I feel sure some of you have seen his films on those channels but you didn't know a Texan made those films in another country. He has also made films in this country for National Geographic and Discovery.
I saw it quite a while ago. I taught yoga for over 25 years. I didn't practice the ancient yoga as it is TOTALLY inappropriate for the West, but I did tell my students about their history.
I had NO idea that the film maker had been a Texan, but why not? Cameramen come from all places.

4. Anyway, the Dalai Lama has a Texan for a buddy.
He couldn't do ANY better. One of my oldest friends lives in Texas, way out in Robertson County...out in the middle of NOWHERE. They DO have fire ants. One bit me a LONG time ago and the scar lasted a FULL YEAR. Hard to forget "deep in the heart of Texas."

Glad you saw the Tibetan film. Sorry a Texas fire ant got you. They are bad bites that hurt.
