Jordan’s King Abdullah II rejected on Sunday the notion that his country was an “alternative homeland” for Palestinian Arabs, the state news agency Petra reports.

“Jordan is Jordan and Palestine is Palestine and nothing but that, not the in the past or the future,” King Abdullah was quoted as having said in a meeting with the Prime Minister, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the Lower House.

“We know how this issue has been surfacing since 15 years, or even more, where things start in the spring by the same group, who tense the Jordanian society, and by the summer, people feel scared; a thing that makes me reassure them by a speech or a press interview, but this year, unfortunately, the talk about the so-called alternative homeland stated early,” he said. …

Not the first time he has rejected the “Palestinians”. Impossible to find a state for a false people. He has to have remembered that Zuheir Mohsen did say that if the “Palestinians” did take over Israel, Jordan would be next on their agenda, though.

If the Jordanians hadn’t rejected their people in 1948 the last 60 years would have been a LOT more peaceful.

No such people before 1948.

Thanks Olog-hai. The young weasel sez:
Palestine is Palestine and nothing but that, not the in the past or the future
Jordan is an artificial construct, made up of colonists moved out of Mecca by the UK in order to prevent their annihilation by bin Saud.

They’re not the same people, even in spite of what King Hussein said. The “Palestinians” have always been after the Jewish state and nothing would have changed that.

What’s correct is that Jordan is “ palestinian” and the king is not. (There’s his problem, if anyone’s even remotely curious)

There is no Palestinian people but there was a population in today’s Israel prior to today’s Jews. They were the 1940’s terrorists.

No, not even.

But the “Palestinians” do lust for Jordan, only after they take over Israel first. Remember Zuheir Mohsen’s words?
(T)he moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan. …
That shows that the so-called “Palestinian” Arabs are not of the same people as living in Jordan, if their desire is to conquer it; and Mohsen knew this.

Rerun 1970/71-been there, done it:

“Following the Arab defeat in the 1967 Six-Day War, Yasser Arafat, who later became Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) chief, saw in Jordan an ideal location for military bases for around 40,000 fighters to attack the neighboring Jewish state.

But the power of the Palestinian armed groups developed into a state within a state.

On September 6, 1970, the leftist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) hijacked three passenger planes, two of which landed in Azraq, east of the capital Amman. Three days later a fourth plane was hijacked, with 56 British and U.S.-Israelis citizens on board.

On September 17, Jordan’s then king Hussein responded by ordering his army of 50,000 men to kick the Palestinian fighters out of the kingdom.

After 10 days of bloody fighting, during which Syria intervened to back the Palestinians, a ceasefire was signed in Cairo.

But the Palestinian armed groups got to stay in Jordan, and the fighting did not stop until Prime Minister Wasfi al-Tel drove the Palestinian fighters out of the country in July 1971.”

The Arabs in the land of Israel moved in there from Egypt Syria and Arabia mostly. My point was only that what we call Jordan today is over 2/3 of mandatory “palrstine”. ( Jabotinsky was right, of course about that but he didn’t live long enough to see success through).

There never was a Palestine ,that was a foriegn Roman thing ,who were great and powerful anti-Semites. Later promoted by first the Ottomans and then the British. Modern so-called Pals are Arabian Bedouin mongrels. Correct me if I am wrong . So-called Pals got interested in an almost deserted and barren land only once the earliest Aliya returns started to breathe new life into a long abandoned land . Their greed ,avarice ,and arabic quality of hatred...All of them need tk be permanently evicted from Greater Israel .

I could not find a map of the British Mandate like this one on Wikipedia. I think the history of Palestine and Jordan has been scrubbed and replaced with fantasy history:

This is land intended for a Jewish homeland, most of which was given to Arab residents of Palestine and named Transjordan.

I can understand why the king would say this, but he is purposely wrong.

Jordan is arab palestine. Israel is jewish palestine.

The king’s family is from Mecca. His grandfather was given Arab Palestine as consolation prize when he was driven out of Mecca by the Saud tribe.

There is no “Palestine”. That was an unfortunate reuse of the Roman rendition of “Philistine” after the Ottoman Empire fell. The Arabs that call themselves “Palestinian” know that they are not kin to the Jordanians, and vice-versa; if they truly were kin, there would be no division.

Sorry, King. They’re your people and you know it.

You’re just hoping like hell they don’t ever fully realize what you’ve done to them.
