Rats go from fantasy economics to science fiction to incoherent foreign policy without skipping a beat. They think it's all good politics.

Mingo Junction is a cool name! It's on the Ohio River across from West Virginia. Thanks Salena!

"Mingo, Pennsylvania From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mingo is a small, unincorporated village in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA, just southeast of Royersford.

Mingo had a Post Office from 1880-1883.[1]"

FYI.

Mingo was also the name of Daniel Boone’s sidekick in the TV series. Played by Ed Ames as I recall.

Salena Zito is one of the best writers in the newspaper business.

It's the "common touch". She writes about real things happening to real people. And everything she writes sounds, well, genuine.

Rats live in the books of Zinn, Chomsky, and Krugman. A trifecta of dangerous ignorance and magical thinking.

Many people overlook one big question in this debate: Who pays this higher wage bill?

Disagree, Salena. Many people ARE asking that question. It just is not the RIGHT people, those that can stop this fiscal irresponsibility.

First of all, Joe Biden’s mother, from Scranton!, would tell Mingo “If someone knocks you down, you get back up and fight!”

Second, if the minimum wage is increased why couldn’t businesses just start hiring contractors to flip the burgers. Give them a contract that’s equal to what the minimum wage used to be. That also gets them around obamacare. Times are tough. The people will take what’s offered.

I don’t agree with government policy necessarily going out an rewarding small town America, but what it can is to quit rewarding with regulation and subsidies all the things that help build up - help the largest corporations concentrate development in and near - the biggest cities in America, with things like subsidized transportion (just as ONE example).

All the tax money and regulation is geared to “helping” the big, from the farms to industry, from cities to interests.

We need both regulations and taxes that are FLAT, 100% applicable across the board - no carve outs, no deductions, no exemptions, no exceptions. That would be MORE favorable now than the current regulatory, tax and “development” policies of U.S state and federal governments now.
