Piers Morgan Admits His Gun Control Rants Contributed to CNN Show's Demise

With CNN president Jeffrey Zucker planning to "pull the plug" on Piers Morgan Live, " Morgan admits his anti-gun rants divided and alienated viewers.

According to The New York Times, Zucker has been watching Morgan's show hit new ratings lows and is ready to go a different way with the 9 p.m. slot.

Morgan spoke to the coming end by admitting he's "been taking a bath in the ratings." He added: "Look, I'm a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it."

Morgan believes he's now "in danger of being the guy at the end of the bar who is always going on about the same thing"--guns, in this instance--and that he probably alienated a lot of heartland Americans by being "this British guy telling them how to lead their lives and what they should do with their guns."

On February 21st, Breitbart News reported on a Variety Magazine article that showed Morgan's already faltering ratings fell "more sharply" once gun control "became a frequent subject" on his show....

The thing is....we’ve had thirty years to observe various interviewers, and we’ve come to note one-star and four-star interviewers. Piers, at best....with a decent guest...is a two-star.

I would also suggest this....we have so many interviewers....that maybe our interest in this gimmick has finally hit the point where we don’t care to watch. If I looked over an entire month of guests for Piers or Larry....I’d say there’d be one or two worth watching. Otherwise, I’d rather spend an hour watching Amish Mafia.

As much as I hate to admit it, He’s apparently not quite as stupid as I thought he was!

I would argue strongly about that.

Hey, piers. We had a little problem with the mother country a few years back, one incident was the mother country came over and started pushing some citizens around, trying to take their guns and stuff amongst other things. We kinda didn’t like it one bit. So, yeah, we kinda like our guns and stuff cause of that last bad experience, ya know. Nothing personal.

I will say that he gave Sen. Santorum and family the most open ended interview of any media besides Greta during the last primaries. As far as the guns, DOH!

What’s a “Piers Morgan”?

It's a festering sore found inside the rectum of those with a particular mental illness.

Like Jaguar and Land Rover, another dysfunctional Brit export that American celebretards are inexplicably attracted to.

Piers is lucky that he is so darn good looking....

Looks like a pasty faced fist-magnet, to me.

Oh, I remember now ... Piers Morgan was some mid-80’s nighttime soap opera chick (that Jon Lovitz has seen nekkid!)

Well, yes. And since Piers clearly appreciates the issue one has to wonder just how far in contempt he would have to hold those "heartland Americans" in order to continue beating the same, old, tired drum?

Rhetorical question. It applies to most of the East Coast MSM as well.
