The point is that there was no prominent person in the young Obama's life who could or would expose him to reality. It was all anti-American, anti-Western isms and destructive schism. This brings us to Obama's mind-numbingly ridiculous description of his 2008 campaign travels: "I've now been in 57 states; I think, one left to go." Where does such a bizarre mistake come from? After all, that there are 50 states is drummed into every American child so that it just instinctively rolls off the tongue: 50 states, 50 states, 50 states.... That is, again, every "American child."

Actually, I, too, have a problem with the number of states in the US. However, my problem only further makes Duke's point. You see, when I was in grade school, there were only 48 states. "48 states, 48 states, 48 states" was drummed into my head. Now when I need to quickly reel off the number of stars on the flag, or the number of US Senators, I have to stop and think.
Obama never had this particular problem. The number of states and senators was constant while he was in grade school. However, he probably never heard the number 50 referencing an important number in the government.
However, there are, indeed, 57 Muslim countries.
You seem to be reaching and struggling to find a reason to take offense; to make a connection to racism that doesn't exist in my statement.
The word "native" isn't always a reference to black skin, red skin, or African tribes. It does have other meanings and was in use long before the age of oversensitivity to skin color fell upon us.
Think of "native" as "innate" and this use of the word "native"will become clear to you.
In this case, here is what is meant by my reference to "native intelligence":

sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge, training, or the like; normal native intelligence.
The title was “president” of the harvard review. Apparently, the title was changed for him and did not require any writing or editing. Makes you wonder who’s behind this secret person, no?

Sorry I am just now answering you back, I was out all day and just got back in.
I am very happy to know now that I did indeed misunderstand how you were using "native". I was really truly hoping that was the case. But I did want to challenge what you said in case others reading Free Republic might wrongly think us racist. However, you rose gallantly to the challenge and very nicely proved your worth (OUR worth, FREE REPUBLIC's worth)and I applaud you.
I was afraid you may have meant (or readers might think you meant) "native" as in by birth or origin, because the very definition of racist means believing that one race is inferior or superior to another race or races. And we here at Free Republic (and you too) know that we do not dislike and distrust Obama because of his race, but because of his communist philosophy, his arrogance, his hatred of America, just to name a few.... and I should add (as you so eloquently pointed out, his lack of common sense.
