Welfare Stoners: $5,475 Withdrawn on Food Stamp Cards in Colorado Pot Stores
FrontPage Mag ^ | 02/25/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

I don’t think pot is covered by food stamp cards, but by the time the left gets done with Colorado, it probably will be.

During the first month of Colorado’s experiment with legal marijuana, welfare beneficiaries withdrew thousands of dollars in public-assistance cash from ATMs at weed shops, according to records obtained by National Review Online.

At least 64 times, public-assistance benefits were accessed at businesses selling marijuana. A total of $5,475 in public benefits was withdrawn at ATMs in establishments that sell pot.

The amounts withdrawn ranged from $20 to $400, averaging $85.55, according to the transaction records. In Colorado, the average household receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits includes one adult and two children, and the maximum monthly benefit for them is $462.

Colorado lawmakers recently failed to pass legislation that would have prohibited EBT withdrawals at retail marijuana shops, medical-marijuana dispensaries, and strip clubs.

“When we passed Amendment 64 to legalize marijuana, the main mantra of the campaign was, ‘Legalize marijuana like alcohol,’” Representative Dan Nordberg, a Republican from Colorado Springs, tells NRO. “But the bill was killed in the state senate, party line. Truth be told, you would think this is common sense, yet I’ve still not received a straight answer for why [Colorado’s Democrats] killed our bill and think it’s okay for welfare beneficiaries to withdraw public benefits in pot shops and strip clubs.”

Because that’s why they vote for Colorado Democrats in the first place.

Did you hear about the pedophile priest who collects disability? Now this...

Guess there’s nothing we can do except gut the military so we can keep paying for democrats to have their fun.

What are they going to do when they get the munchies? Eat the cat?

Why, buy Girl Scout cookies, of course!

Which goes to support...

Isn't that nice?

Public benefit cards allow cash withdrawals?? Are we nuts?

Been that way for years. And yes it is totally nuts.

A “food stamp card” lets you draw cash?

In Califonicator land for tax payers, the scum can get up to $1,000 from an atm.

Go to the link below and enter Santa Rosa as the city to search to see how many places our beloved scum buckets can get cash from an ATM.

If you enter Gay Frisco, San Jose, Oakland or Sacramento, there are too many ATMs accepting EBT cards to put on the computer. You need a zip code in those cities.

Would you like to keep tens of thousands of cash dollars in your business or home? How does a business pay bills and rent?

This has been an entrepreneurial success story. Millions of dollars are going to legitimate business at the expense of the cartels. Colorado has a new tourism draw.

This is remote armed robbery to get stoned

ALL wealth transfer payments to the indolent indigents are remote armed robbery. The hard core democratic base consists of people to lazy to steal on their own, but rely on the government to do it for them.

“When they become schizophrenic or bipolar are they allowed to sign up twice?”

Of course the BiPolars can sign up twice. One for each personality.

The Schizos will be allowed to sign up for as many personalities they have. The exact number of personalities will have to be documented by a Medicaid shrink. Of course all mental health visits will be coverd by Obozo Care.

They buy cigs and booze too. Not sure why those cards work at ATM’s, that’s the question.

The headline is extremely misleading. The funds they withdraw are TANF (what used to be called welfare checks) and not food stamp funds.

You are correct.
A tv station here in Indiana obtained a file of debit card transactions for state TANF.
Vegas, Nevada brothels, Disney (CA and FL), Puerto Rico, yadda yadda.
It’s rough out there....

I’m not condoning it - but it really probably nothing new — it can just be tracked now, unlike when they just got a check and went to the bank and cashed it - then there was no record of where it was spent.

“Would you like to keep tens of thousands of cash dollars in your business or home? How does a business pay bills and rent?”

Not a problem any more. Herr Obozo and his thug AG, Herr Holder gave a Valentine present to the ‘legal’ pot raisers and sellers.

Feds allow banks to legally handle pot transactions

Politics - February 14, 2014 2:44PM

The Department of Justice has cleared a path for banks to accept business from marijuana dispensaries looking to open accounts.

I hear college applications to Colorado colleges are up 60% as well.

I’d keep the cash at home, sure and negotiate a cash discount for the bills.

That is what is going on. The thing that scares me is large piles of cash are a target for criminals. I was just informed (see above) that banks may allow new customers in this field.

That hasn’t happened in California, yet.

Another good reason for the 2nd amendment.

I hear cartel and gangs are moving in as well. They’ll screw it up.

As our old buddy Yakov Smirnov used to say:

“America...what a country!”

Now we can track our welfare cheating in real time LOL.
