For decades, California's criminal justice policies ensured that murderers and others sentenced to life, with the possibility of parole, could expect to die in prison. And most of the time, they did.
Since Gov. Jerry Brown assumed office in January 2011, a record number of inmates with life sentences are winning parole. Brown has allowed the release of nearly 1,400 lifers, while going along with the parole board about 82 percent of the time.

I wonder how many pre-ban firearms and recently banned boxes of lead-based ammo were lost in mysterious boating accidents. That’s a tragedy considering all the recently released hardened criminals now walking the streets.
Anybody with any sense knows that liberals really don’t want murderers in prison. They want Tea Party members in prison.
Making room for gun owners who decline to comply with the confiscation?
I might be OK with releasing a lifer when he turns 70, and is much less physically able to do crimes. My preference is that they die on the streets as bums.

There are over 700 prisoners on California’s Death Row.
Many have been there over 30 years.
I’d like to see a stat on how many California Death Row prisoners have died of natural causes versus how many were actually executed.
