(AFP)—A Russian warship was docked in Havana Wednesday, without explanation from Communist Cuba or its state media.

The Viktor Leonov CCB-175 boat, measuring 91.5 meters (300 feet) long and 14.5 meters wide, was docked at the port of Havana's cruise ship area, near the Russian Orthodox Cathedral.

The ship is reportedly armed with 30mm guns and anti-aircraft missiles.

Gorbachev would never have tried this with Reagan.

You might want to check that. The Soviet navy made regular port calls in Havana aftyer 1969, and in 1981 President Reagan reaffirmed their right to do so. There were restrictions agreed upon after the Cuban Missile Crisis, but as long as they stayed below a certain threshold (no facilities for nuclear subs, for example)the visits went on.

I believe that Castro isn't dead yet because Satan looks after his own.

I was surprised when I first got there to see so many churches open for business. I don't remember any Protestant churces being active, and the Mormons met among themselves. There is still a minute Jewish community there too. There is more religious freedom in Cuba than there is in Saudi Arabia, where we could only hold our services in embassies.
