A Florida TV station reports that a man has spent 50-60 hours trying to cancel his Obamacare plan, and he still can't get off it:

"We are hearing about a new problem that involves the Affordable Care Act," said the anchor. "People who signed up for coverage are finding it impossible to cancel their plans. Channel 9's Lori Brown spoke with an Orlando man who has been trying unsuccessfully to cancel for more than six weeks now."
"Andrew Robinson was looking forward to getting health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. He has a small publishing business and works part time, so he hasn't had coverage. In early January he signed up for a plan that cost nearly $300 a month. About a half hour later he and his wife realized they could barely afford that. They quickly found a less expensive plan through Humana for $116 a month," says the reporter.
"I immediately called back the Florida Blue and asked them to cancel the policy I just set up," says Robinson.
"But he quickly learned canceling Obamacare is no easy task. ... More than six weeks later after spending 50 to 60 hours on the phone his policy is still not canceled and he is still waiting for the payment Florida Blue withdrew from his account to be refunded."

Just shut off the money — that is all they care about anyway. Insurance? What insurance?
Rule of Socialist Aquisition #1: Once you steal their money under force of law, you never give it back!
Wife set that up for automatic withdraw a couple of years ago to save a couple of bucks and we ended up having to close the account and open a new one. (free, but a hassle with new checks, account number changes, etc.) We couldn’t stop Duke energy from doing it no matter how much we threatened, we learned out lesson and will never allow anyone access like that again.
” Obamacare is the Borg. “
More like an Assimilated Marxist Ferengi....
[ Why not just quit paying and see what happens?
Automation withdrawal from his bank account.

Time to switch banks and close the account...
Or close down your account, go off the grid, change you name to something ending in “ez” and get a fake matricular card....
Hi, this is Rachel from Care Services . . . .
Rage building, Rage Building.... those jerkwads call me 3-5 times a day... I block every number but they keep caller ID spoofing new numbers ever so many days...
[ Automation withdrawal from his bank account.
There are ways to stop that too! ]
Switching Banks comes to mind...

My friends call me paranoid, but I always use a physical checkbook to pay monthly bills...
I don’t think you’re paranoid at all. We still pay some stuff on line but will never allow a withdraw by anyone again.
He could try calling his bank, but I think he'd have to close the account to stop the obamacare payments.
LOL Great idea. Jose Illegalez?
Correct. Before Dodd-Frank it was easy to get what I call throwaway checking accounts: no monthly fee, no or small opening minimum, easy to transfer money in to or out of and easy enough to close. There are still a few places (mostly on-line only) where you can get such accounts. But they are harder to find.
Reid says these stories are just lies.

Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door.
I had to find the passage back To the place I was before.
"Relax, " said the night man, "We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like, But you can never leave! "
In the meantime he won’t be able to get new coverage.
Is there any difference to going to your bank and having the bank set up an automatic payment, versus going to the company and allowing them to set up the auto withdrawals?
I would think that if you went to the bank and set it up, it would be way easier to go back to the bank and cancel it.
change you name to something ending in ez
I recall in the 80’s, adding a z to the end of their name was a tactic of the homosexual community..so stylish!
