PALIN MOCKED IN 2008 FOR WARNING PUTIN MAY INVADE UKRAINE IF OBAMA ELECTED
Breitbart ^ | Feb 28, 2014 | By Tony Lee

Posted on 02/28/2014 1:52:52 PM PST by Jim Robinson

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin warned that if Senator Barack Obama were elected president, his "indecision" and "moral equivalence" may encourage Russia's Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine.

Palin said then:

"After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next."

For those comments, she was mocked by the high-brow Foreign Policy magazine and its editor Blake Hounshell, who now is one of the editors of Politico magazine.

In light of recent events in Ukraine and concerns that Russia is getting its troops ready to cross the border into its neighboring nation, nobody seems to be laughing at or dismissing those comments now.

Hounshell wrote then that Palin's comments were "strange" and "this is an extremely far-fetched scenario." "And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine's pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don't see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel," Hounshell dismissively wrote.

Palin made her remarks on the stump after Obama's running mate Joe Biden warned Obama supporters to "gird your loins" if Obama is elected because international leaders may test or try to take advantage of him.

Governor Palin may not be another Winston Churchill be she's she's a better imitation of him than her detractors and the current bunch of fools in the White House and Foggy Bottom.

"Why, Oh why, isn't SHE in the White House instead of the current feckless resident".

Georgians and Ukrainians are begging for an answer....

President Obama said in a statement Friday that ‘there will be costs’ if any country commits a military violation against ‘Ukraine,’

Well, Obama does owe me the cost of an new keyboard(and Putin could've had the same reaction as me)

(Shaking head in disbelief)

Because people bought the PDS BS and got what they asked for. Sure, she’s not perfect. I get that. But people were quick to embrace EVERY piece of BS thrown at the wall in her name.

So now we all suffer with a GOP that works to elect all the people that trashed her.

Well ol' Blake is owning up to it, although he stops short of an actual apology:

Yes, Twitter, Sarah Palin totally called this exact Ukraine scenario 6 years ago….— Blake Hounshell (@blakehounshell) February 28, 2014

Palin's response:

Yes, I could see this one from Alaska. I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as “an extremely far-fetched scenario” by the “high-brow” Foreign Policy magazine. Here’s what this “stupid” “insipid woman” predicted back in 2008: "After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next."

She should beat that horse into sub-atomic dust. Because she deserves to. All her media detractors should be held to their words.

And so should FR’s PDS club. Because they are uniquely responsible for the greater media pointing and saying “See? Even the far right thinks she’s nits!”

No, GOP sycophants pretending to be conservatives thought that. And so they should take the credit they so righteously earned.

Because people bought the PDS BS and got what they asked for.

Ain't that the truth.

Sometimes I believe we're living in the old folk tale(short version) where the people of the kingdom drank from an poisoned well. One by one the king saw his people became mad and there was nothing he could do so, so in frustrationand wishing to join his people, he too drank from the well and became just as insane.

Americans have drank from an poisoned well.

wasn’t a treaty or promise signed by the US/NATO regarding the protection of Ukraine if they gave up their nukes?

The answer is there already. All of us. Their petty BS, their preference for ‘lesser evils’ who they said could ‘win’ have resulted in the world we live in today.

They couldn’t dispute her statements or logic. They couldn’t honestly say she was ‘wrong’ about much if anything. So instead they adopted liberalism, trashed her personally and elected the “very people” on both side of the Uniparty aisle that spent millions to discredit her.

Look what they won! They got exactly what they asked for. They should be proud.

media will just ignore, or double down and lie/mock her more.

Truth will NEVER win with the left.

Speaking to the Democratic National Committee Friday night, President Obama defended his right to use executive authority and mocked Republicans for their obsession with the Affordable Care Act.

Obama leavened his sharp policy message—which focused on increasing the minimum wage and expanding health care access—with moments of levity, telling the crowd at the Capital Hilton, “Well, it’s Friday. It’s after 5:00. So this is now officially happy hour with the Democratic Party.”

As the group laughed and applauded, the president added, “I can do that. It is an executive action. I have the authority.”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2014/02/28/obama-holds-happy-hour-with-the-democratic-party/

“Our job not just as Democrats, but as Americans, is to restore opportunity for all,” he said. “That’s why we’re in this. Those are our values.”

And during the speech an audience member yelled at one point, “Tell the public your plan — tell us about your plan for nuclear war with Russia!”

Obama downplayed the matter, saying, “What the heck are you talking about?” The audience then drowned out the heckler with chants of “Obama. Obama. Obama. Obama.”

Hope he got that in writing. RT @WSJbreakingnews Kerry says Russia pledges to respect Ukraine territories. wsj.com (https://twitter.com/blakehounshell/status/439116286652866560)

Since they told Kerry that for public release, and then immediately and publicly confirmed the opposite, it appears that they took the opportunity to bitch-slap Kerry as impotent and irrelevant.

As far as I’m concerned, Palin hits the bulls eye more than any other on the public scene. Love ya gal.

“Well, it’s Friday. It’s after 5:00. So this is now officially happy hour with the Democratic Party.”

It's been "Democratic Party Happy Hour" ever since the 2008 Elections with Obama playing Putin while the GOPe doing a great imation of Geogia and Ukraine

I'm damned ready for somebody in the GOP to play "Carrie Nation" and take a hatch to the Dims "Open Bar

(sorry for the mixed metaphors)
