BOSTON (AP) — An FBI agent overheard Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev make a "statement to his detriment" when his sister visited him in prison, federal prosecutors said Friday.

Prosecutors did not reveal what Tsarnaev said, but they objected to what they called an attempt by Tsarnaev's lawyers to suppress the statement....

[snip]

Tsarnaev, 20, has pleaded not guilty in the terrorist attack at last year's marathon. Two pressure cooker bombs were placed near the marathon finish line, killing three people and wounding more than 260....

[snip]

Tsarnaev's lawyers say the presence of the FBI agent during prison visits by Tsarnaev's two sisters "has thwarted the defense ability to develop important mitigation information"... [snip] including evidence on "family dysfunction, mental illness and the impact of family chaos on the defendant as he grew up."

Still waiting for the terrorist on the Obama transition team, Nadil Hasan, to be executed for the murders of which he was found guilty in a court of law.

And do his lawyers actually think that he is innocent?

That's what criminal defense has sunk to in this country -- not doing the best you can for your defendant who is obviously guilty; but rather trying to find ways to beat the rap. I was sickened by that crap about "family dysfunction, mental illness and the impact of family chaos on the defendant as he grew up." So what? He plotted, built a bomb, killed and terrorized the marathon attendees, killed a cop, then ran over his brother with a car; and now apparently he's totally all jihadist and unrepentant.

Unless his defense lawyers want to put Islam on trial, I really don't see what his upbringing has to do with his defense at this point.

Total bull crap.

A crime is a crime based on what you do, not why you did it.

Tsarnaev’s attorneys are court-appointed. The court no doubt made sure to appoint the best skilled defense attorneys available. They have to work with the case they were dealt, and for a relatively low hourly rate. Not to do everything they possibly can to free or mitigate the charge/punishment to their client would be a serious ethical lapse. This is how the US judicial system works, every benefit conceivable to the charged party.

When they say they’re looking for “mitigation”or “mitigating factors” it means they know the dirtbag “done it.” But they’re looking for things that might explain and excuse his dirtbag behavior. Maybe his Momma was ugly? Maybe he never got terlet trained? Maybe he just thot he was testing his new pressure cooker? Maybe his religion still had him living in the 12th century? Oh, wait. that just might work?

Tsarnaev is more trustworthy than anyone in the Obama Regime. I don’t believe what they say about this case or anything else.
