Putin gets permission to use Russian military in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin received permission Saturday from parliament to mobilize the country's military in Ukraine.

Putin says the move is needed to protect ethnic Russians and the personnel of a Russian military base in Ukraine's strategic region of Crimea. The request comes a day after President Obama warned Moscow that "there will be costs" if it intervenes militarily in Ukraine.

Putin move appears to formalize what Ukrainian officials described as an ongoing deployment of Russian troops in the strategic region of Crimea. His motion loosely refers to the "territory of Ukraine" rather than specifically to Crimea, raising the possibility that Moscow could use military force in other Russian-speaking provinces in eastern and southern Ukraine where many oppose the new authorities in Kiev.

He said the move is needed to protect ethnic Russians and the personnel of a Russian military base in Ukraine's strategic region of Crimea. Putin sent the request to the Russian legislature's upper house, which has to approve the motion, according to the constitution. The rubber-stamp parliament is certain to approve it in a vote expected Saturday.

I doubt that 1 in 10 have any idea where the Ukraine is, or even what it is for that matter. The objective of our “education” system is to make people dependent on government and to promote its authority.

You’re absolutely right, fear and pain are the only things that cause people to re-assess their views and/or change their opinions.

And they’ll spin it to somehow make Obama look really good:

***********
It’ll take a form something like this: “The president acted with great restraint in the face of an international crisis. Through measured actions he has avoided a dangerous confrontation. Blah, blah, etc.”

The MSM will be working overtime to put a positive spin on his ineptitude and incompetence.

Fear and stupidity are a bad combination...and will lead to VERY bad decisions by President Zero. Couple that with SOD Hagel trying to turn our military into the Boy Scouts...

We’re in trouble.

It’s clear that Putin doesn’t need anyone’s permission for anything.

I find it interesting that FOX used the phrase “The rubber-stamp parliament is certain to approve it in a vote expected Saturday.” That could apply to Obama and the current rubber stamp House and Senate in the US.

I think you have articulated the real risk. While I do not believe he could pull it off presently, if his domestic policy continues it won’t be long before the risk increases.

Who knows, maybe he does want a war. Maybe even Putin already arranged to “yield” because he felt sorry for the boy.

But notice how he did ASK permission of his parliment, which is more than we can say for the current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue.

President Pantywaist will be strapping on his Mom Jeans and getting ready
to give Vladimir Putin a good old fashion finger-wagging, harsh scolding.

So what happened is the Ukraine President got elected to align with the EU, instead wanted to align with the Russians?

That conflict caused the people to rebel and the Ukraine Parliament removed the President?

The Ukraine President goes to Russia and gets his best buds to basically invade and will now erase everyone from power who does not like alignment with Russia; is that about it?

Oh and in a TV moment Obama goes on TV to voice his displeasure and says he might do something some day about it and leaves with his tube of lubricant, about right?

He also told assembled Democrats “Well, it’s Friday. It’s after 5 o’clock. So, this is now officially happy hour with the Democratic party... I can do that. It is an executive action. I have the authority.”

Look, you can be angry with him if you want, but he only reads what's on the teleprompter.

Were Putin and Palin the only ones who saw this coming?

Our problem is that most Americans couldn’t find most countries on a map.
They have no clue how diplomacy works. It was the strength of our country that kept us free and prosperous. No one would ever consider making us their enemy. Today, everyone knows that our leaders are weak, our population cares more about Government handouts and our morals have declined to rival Sodom and Gomorrah. Americans have no idea what it means to try to live in bad times where they would have to stand in line to be fed soup and bread.
Russia is expanding all over the world, close to our mainland. All it will take is China seeing an opportunity to join the other forces. We would be up the creek without a paddle. Or should I say with our dismantling of our military, without a defense? I have never seen a situation where our allies don’t trust us any more and our enemies forge alliances against us.
A sad situation formed by a community agitator.

Does anyone else wonder about what influence the intelligence gleaned from Snowden might have factored into this? Interesting that this invasion comes very shortly after the idiot Hagel announces a huge cut planned for our armed forces. We couldn’t have sent a clearer signal highlighting our unwillingness to fight for anything.
