US President Barack Obama's warning that Russia would have to pay for a planned military intervention in Crimea is "a direct threat," a deputy head of Russia's upper house of parliament said on Saturday, saying Obama has "crossed the red line and insulted the Russian people."

"Yesterday we heard from various media sources that the US president, Obama, had said Russia would pay dearly for its policy. We know that Maidan militants who were active in Kiev, and not only there, had been trained in Lithuania and Poland. Now they want to spread their influence with their activities to eastern regions of Ukraine and Crimea," Federation Council Deputy Chairman Yury Vorobyov said at an upper house session. Vorobyov urged the Federation Council to satisfy a request from President Vladimir Putin for permitting the use of Russian armed forces in Crimea. "If we don't approve a decision to that effect, it will be a tragedy for the Ukrainian people. I believe that these words of the US president are a direct threat, and he has crossed the red line and insulted the Russian people," Vorobyov said. He insisted that Russia recall its ambassador from Washington. Obama urges Russia-US cooperation on Ukraine, calls for joint effort stability President Barack Obama delivered a statement on the situation in Ukraine on Friday afternoon. Washington will continue to discuss the situation in Ukraine directly with Russia's leadership, US President Barack Obama said. Before the President's speech, US envoy to the UN, Samantha Powers, said that the United States is "deeply concerned" by "facts on the ground" in Ukraine.

Many of them are neo-Nazis. And today they called upon Al Qaeda to attack Russia. This is what we put in power in Kiev.

How sad is it for Obama that it wasn’t even putin who responded. Putin sees Obama as beneath him. Not even worthy of an angry response.

The Nazis sold hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians into slave labor. The Ukrainian people risked all to save Jews in WWII. During his visit to Ukraine, Pope John Paul II beatified one of the righteous - Father Kovch who sacrificed his life while saving several hundred of Jews. In 1942, father Kovch issued Jews large numbers of baptism certificates in attempt to save their lives. In doing so, he broke the Nazi prohibitions and so he was arrested in December 1942 and deported to the Majdanek concentration camp where he was gassed and burned on March 26, 1943. Nazis in Ukraine is propaganda. Ukrainians hate the Nazi as Much as it fears Russia.

In this corner we have Barack "Yapping Fool" Obama, and in this corner, the challenger, Vladimir "The Tiger" Putin.

First of all, does this guy talk without asking Putin what to say?

Second, it looks like Russia just drew a red line and said obama has already crossed it. I have a feeling when Russia talks about a red line, they mean it.

Obama's warning that Russia would have to pay for a planned military intervention in Crimea is "a direct threat"

The third party overlords of both Putin and obozo gave them the script to follow. They will, many will die as a result but neither of them nor their overlords are in any danger. Killing the world's oligarchs who profit from war would save their victims lives and people might realize the futility of victim fighting victim.

Hmm... “Russia would have to pay”... would have to pay...

Are we sure he didn’t actually just tell them we wouldn’t fund their intervention?

[Russian Federation Council Deputy Chairman Yury Vorobyov] insisted that Russia recall its ambassador from Washington.

Works for me.

I would be entirely sanguine--in fact, genuinely enthusiastic--about America's cutting all diplomatic ties with Russia.

The Nazis and Neo-Nazis, according to my colleague who is intimately connected to the Ukraine through family and visits, says that the nazis cliques are smaller than reported but are extremists and well organized.

What you are not getting in much of the reporting is who the other political parties are, what their positions are, and who is leading them.

The Ukraine has always had factions of every conceivable type so why should now be any different? Let’s see how this plays out.

Right now nobody is winning in the Ukraine except the Russian and their people inside that country.

And if Obama gets involved, they are sure to lose.

Al Qaeda isn’t going to attack Russia per se. They know that Putin will slaughter anyone even remotely connected to AQ or their support network. He doesn’t full around.

Remember, he’s KGB, not LGBT like the Democrats and Obama.

We need to supply & support the Ukraine, but as far as the Crimea goes, let them do as they please. They are Russians wanting to rejoin with Russia. I can’t see where the US becoming involved in someone else’s civil disobedience/war is in our best interest.

It’s the equivalent of a bully sensing weakness saying “Did you say something to me?” Now our coward in chief is going to have to back down even further.
