Head of Russia's internal republic of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov is ready to protect the rights of the Russian-speaking people in Crimea that sees disturbances over the change in authorities.
"Ukraine and Russia are fraternal peoples. I have many Ukrainian friends, and like them all and regret what has recently been happening there The majority of people living today in Crimea are Russians, Cossacks. We are always with them and if necessary are ready to come to the rescue. We will stand up for Russians, Cossacks and Chechens no matter where they live," Kadyrov told journalists on Wednesday.
Chechens are "a part of multiethnic and multi-religious Russia" and live "in friendship with all peoples," he said.
"We are called upon to protect our peoples. If necessary, we are ready to go, to be observers. If necessary, we are ready to be peacekeepers and soldiers and protect the people," Kadyrov said.
Putin used Muslim Chechens to kill Christians in Georgia. It appears from this article that he'll do it again, this time in Crimea.

$10000 question is why the Swiss can be friends whether speaking German, french or Italian, but these kinds of arrangements not possible in places like Yougoslavia or Ukraine (of course notwithstanding the muslim hegemonist problems).

Switzerland is first a nation, second language groups. Most people are at least bilingual. There are two languages in Belgium, two in Sweden, two in Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, etc.
The issue isn’t language, but tribal sovereignty, freedom, power/dominance, etc.
Chechens have proved to be a depraved bunch, so Putin knows they have no good reputation to protect. He’ll use them. They will be rewarded.
Putin doesn’t seek to control all of Ukraine. He does want part, and is taking it now.

Seems like all the players are there. A dash of nationalism, coupled with a pinch of ethnic hatred, add in a handful of Muslims, Ivan going tactical, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Been saying for years the Crimea was going to be the modern-day "Danzig".
I’d need more than salt. I’d learn to sleep with an AK47 tucked in my bed and with one eye opened. I’d trust a Chechen about as far as I can throw that whole God-forsaken country. Ask the good people of Boston.
He wants the parts with the pipelines. He’s not stupid, like our guy.
What will the Muslim Tatars do? Looks to me like the last thing Putin needs is turning Crimea into another Chechnya.
He’ll get the parts that matter. He doesn’t have to control every inch of pipeline until they start blowing part of it up. That’s when we’ll know the s***’s on. But examination of your map is a very good lesson as to why Putin’s on Ukraine like white on rice. It’s more important to Russia than just about all of the ‘Stans put together.
But what if they had a world war to which the world never came?
It’s going to be ugly, but with the US not poised to dive in, why would it be more than a private ugliness between the Ukraine and Russia.
We stood on the sidelines for two years before entering the European War. Many of the same arguments are in place today as they were back then.
I probably would have been on the side of the Isolationists to a point, of course it’s easy with the benefit of hindsight to see they were wrong. But back then, who was to say....both sides had valid arguments.
